So, if you're browsing this page at the moment with Google Chrome and point your mouse over this link here, your Chrome browser will crash :Oh crap

But thats not scary, what scares me is this one:

Google's new Web browser (Chrome) allows files (e.g., executables) to be automatically downloaded to the user's computer without any user prompt.
Just wanted to let you know :pimp

Personally, I wont use it until they fix possible security issues.. I'll give it at least few months or so. :upsidedow

GigoloShawn 09-04-2008 12:31 AM

Wow, the geniuses at Google have problems with sprintf().

I CALLED IT FIRST!

scubadiver626 09-04-2008 12:36 AM

i just crashed chrome by pointing at the link:Oh crap... I don't get it the big selling point of Chrome is that your tabs can die but it wont tank the whole browser WTF Google...:disgust

TampaToker 09-04-2008 12:48 AM

The fact it actually shows every password in plain site for everything you logged into is enough for me not to use it :(

beta-tester 09-04-2008 12:56 AM

hahaha, nice find :) Well, nothing is perfect ;)

I hope it'll be fixed soon tho!

I knew it!
They suck :)

So I'll stick with FF until they take care of those...

georgeyw 09-04-2008 03:54 AM

Aside from the exploits, still not a fan of chrome. It's like a kids pretend woodsaw. Doesn't do much apart from look pretty.

SmokeyTheBear 09-05-2008 09:32 AM

to be fair exe's dont run by themselves, but this is a very bad exploit for reg surfers.

what happens incase anyone hasn't tried it is..

chrome has a special way of handling exe's you download in that after it downloads it , a tab opens at the bottom left of your browser with the icon and name of the exe you downloaded and a large green arrow points to the tab to tell you you have a file. If you click the tab it launches the exe. If you make the filename something catchy like "GOOGLE CHROME SECURITY UPDATE" wham..

FPW 09-05-2008 09:34 AM

Google Chrome suck... :(

theS2O 09-05-2008 09:38 AM
