All In One SEO Pack issues

This is a great plugin for wordpress but when I activate it for one of my blogs it breaks the site and all I get is "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage" error. It works on a couple of other sites using the same theme template and I tried it using the original kubrick theme which also works. Any ideas?

rename your current index.php file, then upload another blog's index.php file and see if it works. if so, you might have broken some code in the original

thanks, I tried this but unfortunatley it didnt do anything at all to help. the index.php code is identical

you will need to turn on and off your different plugins to see which one is conflicting with the other. do you have "perm links movied" and something else conflicting with it?

that's all I got. :)

I tried that too. I only had the SEO plugin running and it alone broke the page.. ugh.. can it be related to htaccess?

No All In One SEO Pack doesn't modify your .htaccess file. Perhaps there is incompatibility with some other plugin.

Im only running akismet at the moment. On my other blog Im also running akismet and its working fine with the AIOSP.

digi 09-05-2008 12:07 PM

http://www.boobieblog.com/ - opens perfectly here.

digi 09-05-2008 12:33 PM

oops, sorry.. the plugin was deactivated. try it now.

mynameisjim 09-05-2008 12:38 PM

Did you say it works with the original theme?

Then the problem is something with the theme you are running. If it works on other blogs running the same theme you need to figure out what is different about this blog that isn't working.

Same wordpress version across all the blogs?

Insert this line into your .htaccess:

php_flag display_errors on

yeah, exact same wordpress version and all. I guess I will have to go through all files and see what it could be..

I see. Very strange. Try to switch your blog to default template.

digi 09-05-2008 01:15 PM

Done. As you can see the plugin is working fine now. I spoke with my host and they said: "It is not logging any errors however, it does appear that the plug-in is trying to
redirect the user but is failing to supply a destination for the user to go to."

mynameisjim 09-05-2008 01:17 PM

I would remove the plugin, download a fresh a copy and load it in again. Then reinstall the theme. Maybe a file got corrupted.

If other blogs with the exact same setup work, it must be some file that is different.

You need to edit your wp-config.php file...

add this line: @ini_set("memory_limit","16M"); right after the line: define ('WPLANG', ''); and above where it says /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

so it looks like this...

define ('WPLANG', '');

@ini_set("memory_limit","16M");

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

Nah, you don't owe me anything. I had the exact same problem several months back and got that answer from another member GFY here.

Happy to be able to pass on my learned knowledge.
