Google Analytics

does it track pages visitors left too?

I want to find out how much traffic I am losing on my galleries from surfers typing in the domain and not clicking through my links.

Porko 09-05-2008 01:43 PM

Still looking for that option, can't find it

You mean like what is at -- Content Overview / Pages?

Fucksakes 09-05-2008 01:54 PM

Lets say surfer visits my gallery that clearly states all over it.. in the logo, the video sample, in the 2257 url on bottom of page etc.. and my 3 ugly affiliate links..

I want to know the % of lost surfers, if they are going into the browser and typing the domain itself and avoiding my affiliate links.

I do it all the time..

I copy the link of an aff ref and erase the shit at the end into the browser.. because I don't want anyone to know how much money I make.

pornguy 09-05-2008 01:55 PM

I dont think anything does that.

well I know for a fact that ALOT of surfers go through my links.

www.siteurl.com/folder1/number/name.html

they split that up searching for more.. and im talking a good % of my traffic.

500,000 views.. 3000 clicks to sponsors, 12000 fucked with my links and end up on other pages.

Konda 09-05-2008 02:06 PM

It shows the bounce rate. Which means how many people left to another site, but it doesn't show to which site they left or if they just closed the browser.

Konda 09-05-2008 02:08 PM

what is the bounce rate?
20 is really good
35 is cause for concern
50 or higher is worrying

Yeah I know what you mean. I think though that the only way to track that would be using spyware that would have to be attached to the browser.

For a pay site you are correct, But for a blog or something similar, I WANT them to click a link and leave my site. Lucky for me, my bounce and my clickthoughs are pretty close.

Here's a simple way to find out : Add a few fake webmaster-code-looking links to stuff you own, then measure the number of ppl that pop into that domain with the link and without. See what I mean ?

Not a bad idea.

Is this being done with galleries you are submitting, or just putting into your own tgp sites?
