Hotels in Barcelona...need recommendations

Hey Everyone,

I am hitting up Barcelona after the Amsterdam show. Anyone have some recommendations on decent hotels in the city?

Biggy 09-15-2008 02:20 PM

Ask the guys from Local Billing, Commercegate and Private. They are based in Barcelona so they know the right hotels.

Good luck with finding a nice hotel Bryan. See you in a few days in Amsterdam

I love this hotel:
Rivoli Ramblas

Its on Las Ramblas and right near the metro station. And WiFi access is free (or it was last time i was there) I havent stayed anywhere else in Barcelona since 2001. I love this hotel. :2 cents:

Just got back from there last week.

Don't stay in hotels, rent an apartment! :winkwink:

Barcelonetta Suites was wonderful! I stayed at the one called Carmen and it was a true pleasure to stay there. Barcelonetta is a 2 min walk from the beach as well and about 10 minutes to the old city. The place looked as if it was recently redone and everything was logically laid out. The guy who gave us the keys was a really nice German guy who was really helpful.

Cost 95 euros a night and FREE WIRELESS!

I AM GOING TO BUY AN APARTMENT IN BARCELONETTA!!!

Hi Bryan,

All depends what you want to do/see/experience in Barcelona. You can get nice hotels in a pure touristic area. You can enjoy a peaceful place nearby the beach in a old part or a new part of Barcelona. You can be downtown with lots of people, bars and attractions around or a bit aside of all the noise.

So let me know and i can propose you few nice places!

For sure thanks!

I'll second that. B Hotel by the Plaza de Espana. We stayed there a few years ago when we went to the Sonar festival. Not too expensive, ?90 weekdays and ?140 weekends when we stayed there. Fairly new (2005), modern decor and clean. Pool on the roof. Walking distance to the Rambla (15 minutes).

Good luck!

I suggest getting an apartment - their are several services available online.

All the hotel rooms in Barcelona are tiny - you will be more comfortable and spend alot less $$ with an Apartment.

One thing I have to say...

Do not! Eat on La Rambla...

I was bitching about it all day afterwards...

The menu showed reasonable prices... 12 euros for a paella... I had two pints and my girl had a half bottle of house red wine. I could not find the beer prices on the menu???

The bill comes and its 7 euros a pint and 15.95 for the half bottle of wine which was torres - sangre de toro (3.99 for a full bottle at the store).

Totally agree. When we were in Barcelona, we booked the hotel through www.atrapalo.com, because they had the best prices among all booking sites. Their site is only in Spanish, but it's not difficult to make it out
