Buying Euros for AMS
 
Was getting ready to order some Euros for Amsterdam trip. My bank is charging $1.4987 - is that a decent rate or should I wait and get them in NL?

I dont know about Euros, but just food for thought. When you come to Mexico, you get the BEST exchange by using an ATM here in Mexico. So...

I think I bought them at an ATM in AMS last time . . . wasn't sure if that was the way to go or not.

From what I know is you always get the best rate if you use the ATM in the country you are going to.

Wasn't sure with the card fees if it really did, but will go that route again I guess.

Just glad a saved some from last year.

What happens if you loose your card and how quick could your bank get a new one to you?

The advice Ive got is to take some in travelers checks, some in cash (smaller amount) and some on a credit or debit card, and keep them all seperate as much as you can.

I have enough friends over there that it probably would not be an issue. I brought traveler's checks last time as well and never used one.
