I have mixed feelings, but right now I feel relieved that it didn't pass. We'll see what happens in the coming days and weeks.

Ultimately it will look like the repubs killed this. If the markets crash, the polls will reflect it.

tons of banks, retailers, chains etc will be wiped out costing hundreds of thousands of jobs and all of you will refuse to admit that you were against the bailout in the same way that people won't admit to voting for bush.

This bailout will eventually get passed. There was some shitty stuff put in this bill. Hopefully the next incarnation will be more palatable.

66% of republicans voted against it. 60% of dems voted for it.

So the McCain saving the day scenario turned out to be bullshit.
