Alphared Customers -- Be careful and be alert! Make backups!

:warning

I didn't want to make this post or be in this position, but we've been following the situation with Alphared closely the last few days. What has prompted me to finally make this post is the dire outlook on the situation. I have heard from multiple clients, some who have already been able to move out and others who are in a frenzy trying too get out that things are coming to a grim ending. Allegedly, the lawsuit has put Alphared into a position that it can't recover from and according to some rumors that we have heard the staff has been completely fired.

We've tried to contact Alphared on behalf of some of these customers who are asking us for help, and none of the extensions work for either sales or support. Their customer portal is also non-functional and all other attempts at reaching ANYONE at Alphared is a dead end. No one is answering, no one is around and according to the rumors the doors are locked and the staff gone.

Please heed this warning and ensure you have backups of all your data and information that you cannot lose. All the signs are pointing to Alphared dissapearing from being available on the internet which will make your websites and businesses down for the count.
The blow to all our industries will be huge if the amount of customers that Alphared has all of a sudden go offline and cease to exist over night or come back up with heavily dated copies of their data.

I want to ask that all hosting providers come together as a community and extend a hand to the customers of Alphared and help ensure that everyone who needs backups or a migration from their current servers is helped properly and swiftly before the worst happens.

Since there is no communication at all with anyone from Alphared, and all their important methods of contact (customer portal and phone) are inaccessible, we can only assume that the plan is abandon ship. If that is the case there is no telling when servers will start going down due to a number of issues that won't have staff around to help with or vendors disconnecting for non-payment and being unable to reach anyone.

I am going to post some offers below for those who need to still backup their data or do a server migration.
We have techs standing by to get your data moved off ASAP. However, I want to warn you ahead of time that we will not be matching pricing like $4/Mbps. We can be competitive but it will have to make sense to us. So if you need to get moved off still, we are standing by ready to go to help save your data.

For some reason ICQ and AIM is down at this time for me but email me directly or Sales [at] oc3networks.com and out team will be happy to assist.

If anyone from Alphared read this PLEASE contact us so we can help customer at least understand what is going on and get them some piece of mind.

pr0, what's up man.

you know me man I would NEVER post something I don;t feel needs posting, I truly exerted ALL communication possible with Alphred for 14 clients so far with NO respond and people that apparently went there found closed doors.

Jens Van Assterdam 10-02-2008 11:53 PM

Was there any positive news on AlphaRed in the last 6 month?

lazzlo 10-02-2008 11:55 PM

I can confirm the support/admin panel is dead at alphared for hours now. I have emailed every contact I have with them, including support and James himself who always responds promptly. No replies. I tried calling, nothing. Glimmer of hope is, sites are still up and I have ftp access. My new server is being set up and migrated as fast as possible. I advise to get your shit out as well if hosted there, it does not look good. Thanks Pacific Rack for the help and urgency to get my stuff out and running.

Microsoft Files Lawsuit Against Scareware Scammers

The attorney general filed the lawsuit against a Texas firm called Branch Software and Alpha Red and its owner James Reed McCreary IV. The suit alleged that Mr McCreary's company "sent incessant pop-ups resembling system warnings to consumers' personal computers.

Klen 10-03-2008 03:57 AM

Well i always said hosting at alpha red is gambling.

Moose 10-03-2008 04:23 AM

Hmm, I have got a few phone calls tonight from webmasters who think they are in trouble because of this, but only because they read this thread. I still have seen no proof.

If this is for real and you need help... We will be here to help you. We will offer free migrations to get you going. We have seen this situation many many times and it SUCKS. Most times the clients are left in the dark with no one answering the phone or emails. When this happens it is time to RUN.

If you find yourself in a bind, send an email to [email protected] or a quick phone call and we will do what ever it takes to get you back up and running and we can deal with the other issues later, main goal is to get your sites up and running. We always keep a full rack of empty servers ready to go.

bash 10-03-2008 04:28 AM

Hey perfect timing. Take all your 4 and 5 dollar bandwidth over to cave creek as they are offering not only to match but Beat any deals you currently have,,,,:1orglaugh:1orglaugh
http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=854105 So if you're a cheap ass and at alphared go get cave creak.....LMAO:1orglaugh

Now if you are tired of using a garbage host, there are plenty of very good hosts that hang on this board, just do 10 mins of searching and you will find some that don't have downtime threads, and no bad support threads. Of course the prices will be what they should be no more 5 buck junk, but the quality will be much better.:2 cents::pimp

kahell 10-03-2008 04:56 AM

Knowing how cheap most webmasters really are, I'm willing to bet quite a few will, provided AlphaRed actually DO go belly-up. So far I haven't heard of any servers online and from another thread it sounds like operations MAY continue.

Thats what many people said right befoe LikeWhoa disappeared and all their servers and data was Gone. Or when Cologroup (that Jayson dude) the cogent reseller also disarreared, or magg from foundrynapp. Don't wait until it's to late. History will repeat itself so dont get caught with your pant down and all your business in gone.:2 cents::2 cents:

I wish *everybody* good luck. I am hopeful that AlphaRed is able to continue serving it's customer base without interruption. Everyone has to make the decisions they feel are best for their business to protect their assets.

If we can be of any assistance to anyone, please reach out to us.

Sincerely,

Brad

ISPrime_dimi 10-03-2008 09:47 AM

Should anyone require assistance in backing up or transferring their site, data, or content please contact us via email or ICQ; we're here to help. Best of luck and hope everyone stays afloat!

Techie Media 10-03-2008 10:03 AM

To those of you who have already contacted us your servers are being set up now and data has already begun being transferred. You will be contacted by a technician as soon as we have your data safely moved to your new servers. To those who may be interested in saving your businesses we are here to help you but please keep in mind we are not in the biz of competing with low budget cogent type hosts offering 4 and 5 dollar bandwidth with used junkie servers. We are a Hi Quality host with only Tier 1 bandwidth and very hi caliber support. In lieu of the current alpha red situation we are offering some VERY aggressive deals for 50 meg and above bandwidth users. Contact me for details. Good luck to all.:)

AdultEUhost 10-03-2008 10:03 AM

Damn that sucks for everybody who is hosting there, as far as i know they have quite some customers.

If anyone needs help, let me know i will be around all day
we have servers online and ready to use

I hate seeing this happen to webmasters. These "Slash & Burn" type of companies are way too common. Having said that I feel that webmasters really need to look into who they are doing business with. When looking for a host keep in mind you are going to be working hand in hand with this company to run your business efficiently. There are some great hosts that advertise and post on this board. If it sounds too good to be true it most likely is! CHOOSE WISELY!

As always, we are here if you need us. Webair.com has a proven track record in this industry. With more than 12 years experience under our belt, Multiple data center locations, over 70 employees, robust network architecture, real-time 24/7 support, we are a company you can count on long term. If there is anything we can do to help you with your transition please feel free to contact us anytime 1.866.WEBAIR1 or [email protected]

Thanks to those that have already signed up with us we will have you up and running ASAP! We appreciate your business!

Best of luck to all,
