mabye its on some expensive property, or it has a lot of acres that come with it. ive seen people spend more and tear a house down just to build on the property.

Yeah thats what I figure.

JamesK 10-05-2008 02:16 PM

Is it normal to put the price tag right there, on the house? I've never seen that before

A company paid $12 million for a Mcdonalds restaurant on the strip...so they could tear it down and have the lot.

Me neither - its unusual.

cherrylula 10-05-2008 02:21 PM

a lot of times properties like that have a lot of land included, and they are priced accordingly because whoever buys it will be tearing that house down...

it could be a great deal. :2 cents:

yup its the property not the house I know of almost 10 acres on a major exit off I 75 just minutes from downtown Dayton you could get it for less than 100K/acre but theres a huge hotel there you would have to demolish

SNRProductions 10-05-2008 08:53 PM

What kind of houses are you looking to buy over there? Good Lord. And that is the biggest spider I've ever seen in a house.

Actually, it was. Too bad I had nothing to scale it by in the pic, tho. It was about the size of a pack of matches - and hangin' in the middle of the doorway in a giant web. It scuttled over to the door frame when I got within a few feet of it.

Did it have a spiral web? That's an "Orb Weaver" spider.

xxxdesign-net 10-05-2008 09:13 PM

Vagrants, naw.

I always carry a 4d maglite as a deterrent - and I'm ex-military and rather solid-built.

I've been photographin' abandonments for a decade and always stop to listen for sounds inside a location.

It was somewhat spiral-shaped, I guess. I didn't look too closely at the web itself. Caught a shot of it in one frame, but it was outta focus since the spider was moving and vibrating it.
