Huge Wildfire in LA !

took these shots from my hotel room. It affects about 500 acres,in the San Fernando valley, 450 homes , 1250 people evacuated. They are getting a handle on it now, with the aid of water bombing helicopters.

Urban renewal.

Redmanthatcould 10-12-2008 09:35 AM

Holy shit. What a trip...we got home last night around 3 a.m. (gone for most of the evening), and only then did we actually smell what seemed like fire residue outside.

BTW, are you staying in L.A. until WMA, or just here for a quick visit?

F-U-Jimmy 10-12-2008 12:06 PM

Just what LA needs more smog :error

Man, I honestly dunno how you guys deal with the fires every year and then the mud slides. We get fires every so often here in Florida and it sucks ass to go out side and hell even inside you can smell the smoke.

I mean sure we get hurricanes, but at least we can prepare for them and build houses to withstand them. With Fires and mudslides there is just nothing you can do.

We have a fire here in Northern California, about 200 acres. It's in Auburn. It's about thirty miles away and yesterday I could see the smoke from my house.

TubeTitans_SusieQ 08-31-2009 11:52 AM

There are actually far more things you can do against a fire or mudslide than you can do against a hurricane that is bound and determined to rip your to shreads.

bbm 08-31-2009 12:57 PM

The answer is simple. Some of the hottest pussy on planet earth moves here every year. Plus there are lots of interesting entrepreneurs who live here. Regardless of what night of the week there is always a good band to see or other events.

dodger21 08-31-2009 02:58 PM

100k acres so far

Wondrful_Ricky 08-31-2009 03:11 PM

yea its really sick. Its out of control. Most of Glendale Unified school districts are closed today cause of bad air quality. I give props to our fire fighters as their battling these fires in this 100+ degree weather.
