9 out of 10 sexually active adults carry the virus that causes herpes on your mouth.

Either you are not sexually active (my guess), not an adult or you are that ONE person.

sandman! 10-12-2008 06:13 PM

congrats to all the winners!

I'm sexually active, 29 years old, and I never get cold sores or herpes on my mouth. I must be that one person. Knock on wood.

AH!

But that doesn't mean you don't have the virus. You can have the virus, as 9 out of 10 do, and never, ever have a single outbreak.

It's that one lone person who doesn't have the virus. Though if everyone else has it, I don't know how they couldn't. Fucking CDC and their fucked up stats.

camgirlshide 10-12-2008 06:25 PM

some people are immune

I will bet you $10,000 if you got a blood test it would show hsv1 or 2

This is true and also holds true for all viruses.

Also, just because you are exposed to a virus, any virus, your body does not have to accept it based on the strength of your immune system.

The body is an AMAZING thing.

Try using Tom's of Maine Natural Antiplaque Toothpaste
http://www.dentist.net/images/tm-acpluswge-dn.jpg
Tom's toothpaste is free from sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS).

This is a foaming agent found in many toothpastes and it's thought it might reduce the protective mucous layer in the mouth. Simply changing your toothpaste may be enough to help the ulcers clear up.

Do you generally brush your lips when you are brushing your teeth?

Well, you wouldn't know if I am that one dude until after the test, and you can't bet after the results are given out...

Perhaps if I feel motivated. But since it's not affecting me anyway, don't hold your breath.

Actually, no, I've never had a canker sore. And, yes, of course my parents kissed me when I was a baby.

Only type of mouth irritation I've had is when I've bitten my lip or the inside of my cheek and it gets irritated for about a day. And the roof of my mouth gets irritated sometimes when I raid my son's stash of Freezer Pops. I end up eating about 20 of them...until my mouth is numb.

Spunky 10-12-2008 07:21 PM

Damn,those pix are nasty

aico 10-12-2008 07:37 PM

See your doctor immediately.

NicAngel 10-12-2008 10:49 PM

you can get a herpes ointment by a brand called Forces of Nature at Whole Foods. just dab a little on a q-tip then put it on your lip. it will kill the sore without taking medication.

Most toothpastes have SLS that slow down the healing of the herpes ulcers.:2 cents:

Oh thank god you repeated it, because now it all makes sense, but I still have a question: Do you generally brush your lips when you are brushing your teeth?
