Geo pricing kills european sales ...
whats wrong with program owners these days?
i mean, charging ?29,95 is whackin crap already, but charging US surfers $29,95 and euro surfers a whoppin ?39,95 for the SAME site is hilarious! do ya think money grows on trees in europe? hey, thats a killing $60 per MONTH? are you outta control? :321GFY ... this sucks balls big time ... rethink folks ... and make some reasonable prices for euro surfers to make more sales :2 cents: all the best :) OL' - BraveD. |
Your poll is flawed. There's no option saying it improves sales....cause it does. :thumbsup

see:
http://www.gfy.com/showthread.php?t=...gional+billing just frikken give the people the price in $ - they all pay with CCs which are multi-currency fer gods sake. Just more conning the surfer... |
Ignore them, next year they'll be back at their job at Burger King or in their parents' basement.
|
it may hurt sales a tiny bit, but the increase in $$$ makes it all worth it

If it sells at that price, why not charging it. That would be flawed only if that meant lesser bottomline from European sales.
It's business man, not sort of communist "justice for all". |

self explaining, aint it? get your sponsors geo stats and see ... euro surfers piss on such expensive sites :2 cents: ... besides ... it does NOT sell at that price or very rarely ... YOU, the affiliates are fucked over by geo (over)pricing ... the sponsors make a lotta more green, but YOU as their promoter are paid in dollars ... got me? |
The programs don't care.. they want the money today.. as more and more european porn buyers clue in and stop buying, those same programs will be forced to change things but by then the damage will have been done.

to those who voted "doesnt affect my sales" ... show your stats lined up by COUNTRY! i bet my bony ass your sales suck big time on the euro market ... there are way more citizens in the EU than US, so show me proof you make MORE sales to EU users than US folks ... now, put your evidence (traceable and proof) here ...
|
Increases sells when the conversion is done properly
|
i slowly get the picture ... most people didnt really read my post but only saw the poll ... the reason why i think geopricing sucks, is, because many sponsors use it in a way that fucks euro surfers over ...
example: US member pays lets say $29,95 - EU member pays €29,95, which equals to about $45 ... means, the euro surfer pays 1,5x of what a US members pays! why on earth? the worst i saw was $29,95/€39,95 which means the EU member pays about 2x ... THATs why i think geopricing (in most cases) has a negative effect on the sales ... well, why charge by country currency anyways? ppl pay with their CC and thats multicurrency payment ... |

sponsor gets to keep the difference |
How can anybody possibly think it's good for sales to charge more in Europe???
I own two sites, and for example one of my sites I charge $29.99 USD and charge 24.99 Euro, so that it works out roughly the same. Just seems fair and commonsense to not delibrately rip people off from certain zones...:) |

or, do people from turkiye pay 29,95 in LIRA? do they?! i really doubt it :2 cents: |
why not stop promoting US sponsors for your euro traffic then? you can use geo-targetting of your own, and push EU traffic to your EU sponsors
|
I am doing very well with the geo pricing - the percentage of € customers increased slightly
|
What if its priced at 19-23 Euro?

Is it the same like with the humanitarian aids from EU for the victims of catrina? EU bread is not good enough for US citizens... Its better to burn up the stuff. |
no
euro sales are better then ever and a nice chunky $40 almost on that 29.95 euro |
Some people think we are rich in Europe :)

Regional pricing is another one of those short term $, long term effect things like prechecked xsells. Enjoy it while you can. :helpme |
Billing customers in their local currency at a price that is sustainable in their own local economies isn't dumb at all. Even when the cost is a little more, sometimes consumers just appreciate that someone is catering to them. If not, they move on :)

I would think that since you know better regarding the EU market, that you would view the situation as a wonderful opportunity to do a lot of business for yourself, rather than a reason to get mad at someone else for doing it differently! Maybe this is a little outside the box thinking here, but when I see other companies doing things that I think are counterproductive, or bad for business, then I go the other direction, and try to take the market share from them by doing it better. I certainly DON'T get mad at them for doing something that brings more customers to me by contrast! :2 cents: |
This is crazy. He makes a poll so that people think he wanted info. Lots of people came in and gave it and he argues with them. Maybe that is why europeans pay more?
|
Who is charging $30 USD and it's converting to $60 Euro?
Most of us use Epoch, CCBill or Local Billing.. So whatever theory you have about $60 memberships is bullshit. |
don't really care either way but doesn't seem like a bad thing

site charges me ?39,95, that equals to way over $55; NOT theory, hard EVIDENCE! |
