|
What was this "joe the plumber" shit anyway ?
I caught something on the news over here, and it showed you Obama and McCain say "joe the plumber" about 20 times. I missed what the actual story was about when i went for a piss... :helpme |
JOE HAS NO LICENSE (MSN.com)
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Joe the Plumber, America's most famous tradesman, said Thursday he doesn't have a license and doesn't need one. Joe Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber, the nickname Republican John McCain bestowed on him during Wednesday's presidential debate, said he works for a small plumbing company that does residential work. Because he works for someone else, he doesn't need a license, he said. But the county Wurzelbacher and his employer live in, Lucas County, requires plumbers to have licenses. Neither Wurzelbacher nor his employer are licensed there, said Cheryl Schimming of Lucas County Building Regulations, which handles plumber licenses in parts of the county outside Toledo. |
no shit ...
|
yes, whats the deal with Je? I missed the debate.
|
it too much shit to explain..but all I can see is..he's a fucking TOOL and now getting into trouble for NOT paying TAXES and NOT having a plumber's license

A representative at the court explained that Wurzelbacher had not paid $1,182.98 of personal income tax. The state filed a lien on January 26, 2007, and the payment remains outstanding. But the court rep also cautioned that this all may have occurred without Wurzelbacher's knowledge. "We get hundreds of state liens every day and we don't have to make a judgment on them. We are just putting in there what the state says is owed. We don't notify that person and neither does the state. If there was activity on this lien, if they attempted to collect it on this case - which they haven't -- it would show up. But I am 99.9 percent positive that he doesn't even know about this." |
fuck joe the plumber and fuck Mccain and fuck you for sucking on Mccain's old dick

Also, the scenario of his taxes going up after he buys the plumbing business is pretty much worthless, too. From that same article: Wurzelbacher, 34, said he doesn't have a good plan put together on how he would buy Newell Plumbing and Heating in nearby Toledo. He said the business consists of owner Al Newell and him. Wurzelbacher said he's worked there for six years and that the two have talked about his taking it over at some point. "...the two have talked about his taking it over at some point." Yeah, because things mentioned in casual conversation are solid and concrete. :2 cents: Fuck, wait a minute. I just noticed this: Wurzelbacher told Obama that he was preparing to buy the plumbing company, which earns more than $250,000 a year He said the business consists of owner Al Newell and him. Two plumbers do over $250,000 a year in sales? I'm a jack-of-all-trades, so I've never hired a plumber, but does that seem like a fuck of a lot of money for a two man operation? |

Certainly he knows about the owed taxes. |
That's funny that he doesn't even have a liscence
Oops, thanks McCain... |
So only one guy in the entire country is working at something with out a license, and they finally caught that crooked rat bastard..

My damn plumber cost me some 35k+ this year on one damn project. Though I do know his profit margin was only about 12% on that job. It tied him and another up for about a week as well. The 35k had nothing at all to do with much though. I am also sure as a plumbing team they could do well over a quarter million in sales a year. Yet if they stay at 12% on the larger jobs, their yearly income is damn low. |
Joe the plumber, omg
|
Here?s a sampling of what he told the press this morning:
? ?Social Security?s a joke. I have parents. I don?t need another set of parents called the government. Let me take my money and invest it how I please. Social Security, I?ve never believed in, don?t like it, hate that it?s forced on me.? ? ?I?m not sorry that we?re in Iraq. ? We?ve liberated another country. I mean, you know, freedom. ? I don?t know if you guys are Christians or not, but it?s like someone coming to Jesus and becoming saved. These guys have freedom. ? Has it kept us safe? Absolutely. I believe in that 100 percent.? |

He just likely doesn't know about the lien, but he damn sure would know about the owed taxes. |

I sort of feel sorry for the guy. Sounds like an average idiot who just got caught up in the moment. How does that phrase go, "It's better to let people think you are an idiot then open your mouth and remove all doubt"
He makes likes $40K a year so he's not buying any business, plus the business itself only makes $100K a year, not $280K. So in the end, if his dream came true and he bought the business, he would have lower taxes under Obama's plan anyway. Shouldn't McCain's people have done an hour of research on this guy before they hung their campaign on him? |
Plumbers make a fortune. I had a less than 1 day job rerouting around a busted pipe under my garage floor and it was over $1000. And it was small pipes, the fucking hot water pipe going to my washing machine.

Sticky, the thread was about "Joe the plumber" being a set up. Read the title. Why don't you talk about "Spread the Wealth" in a new thread?
"Joe, you're rich. Congratulations." lol |

Not brain surgery that sometimes people use their middle name as their name they go by quite often. Its a State tax. The state tax system is worse than the federal tax system in many cases. lol Thankfully no state tax here in TN. :winkwink: |

Obama can feel free to spread his own wealth around, but he can keep his big govt. hands off of my wealth. I'll decide where that gets spread. I agree with Joe. ABC's "Good Morning America" October 16, 2008 ABC's Diane Sawyer: "Well I just want to ask you now about the issue that was raised because it's been a little confusing to me as I tried to sort it out here. To get straight here, you're not taking home $250,000 now, am I right?" Joe Wurzelbacher: "No. No. Not even close." Sawyer: "And you were you asking ? about the prospect, the hope that someday you would make $250,000, and you were saying you didn't want that to be taxed?" Wurzelbacher: "Well, exactly. Exactly. I mean not that I don't want to be taxed. You have to be taxed. But to ? just because you work a little harder to have a little bit more money taken from you, I mean, that's scary. You know as opposed to other people. I worked hard for it. Why should I be taxed more than other people?" Sawyer: "Well if people making $250,000 should not be taxed additionally ? by the way, it's 3% from 36% to 39% under Senator Obama's plan. If those people should not be taxed additionally, even though they're in the top 5% of America, what about people who make $1 million? Or $5 million?" Wurzelbacher: "Well, I mean, quite honestly, why should they be penalized for being successful. I mean, that's what you're telling me. That's what it sounds like you're saying. That's wrong. Because you're successful, you have to pay more than everybody else? We all live in this country. It's a basic right. And Obama wants to take that basic right and penalize me for it, is what it comes down to. That's a very socialist view and it's incredibly wrong. I mean, $250,000 now. What if he decides, well you know $150,000, you're pretty rich too. Let's go ahead and lower it again. You know it's a slippery slope. When's it going to stop?" |
Well... Joe may very well be a plant... and I wouldn't put it past either party - or better yet any one of the DEM or REP PAC's.
But, the simple fact is... we are officially entering a 'recession'. Though GDP has not yet provided 2 consecutive negative quarterly numbers, many economists now believe that is just around the corner. In addition, the Q3-2007 numbers may not have been up at all as it is clear the US economy was retracting in 2007. Now, this country raised taxes (Revenue Act of 1932) in the early stages of the 'Great Depression' which added to the economic woes and prolonged the recovery. Raising taxes during economic downturns is very damaging to the economy and job market. Now, I realize Obama's 'tax increase' is targeted at the top 5%, and the Revenue Act was accross the board, but the difference is, nearly ALL job creation is produced by the top 5%. This tax policy will cause severe job cuts across a large number of small businesses. While not all small business will need to let people go, its certainly reasonable that 5-10% might. What percentage of the job market is that? That could add 2% on top of the unemployment rate? In the 90's 50% of all NEW jobs created were by companies with less than 20 employees. That number is even higher today. Both Obama and McCain acknowledge that 'Small Businesses" will drive our economic recovery and economy of the future. If this is so, why would anyone wan't to raise taxes NOW on that segment of the US economy? |

regarding ASM's $35k bill and being privy to the guys profit margin... sounds like your plumber is just a good guy in telling you this info. I'd venture to say that he doesn't pull only 12% all the time, and averaging out at the end of the year he does ok. there is nothing wrong with someone making a comfortable living because they know how to do something that most others don't know how to do. |
haha funny
