how about the date.. that is also in russian, so I can't even begin to guess

the date is on top of OTK but its barely visible unless they have a hi res pic.

it looks like a year of production, i can see '19' for the first 2 figures, and may be 41 for the last two.

1979 in English is 1979 in Russian which is 1979 in Bulgarian too, which is 1979 in French btw

I'm not sure it's russian, but I think this item is a Russian lacquer box, so I was guessing on the language
