nevermind trying to make people laugh...

Voodoo 10-19-2008 01:55 PM

Good job for a first! Pretty good material too! :)

EscortBiz 10-19-2008 02:06 PM

impressed, unique stuff, google stuff was real funny nice ending

DamageX 10-19-2008 02:30 PM

The jokes weren't half-bad. The act itself needs more work, but you'll get there. Overall, definitely a good first performance.

PlugRush Sascha 10-19-2008 02:35 PM

I thought it was terrible, but your sig is pretty cool on a positive note.

BobG 10-19-2008 03:00 PM

bravo, good job. Congrats!

man blast in your face 10-19-2008 03:02 PM

Good job. Definitely well done (especially considering it was your debut).

You've probably seen "Comedian" and if you haven't, you should. It gives a little insight into the amount of work that goes behind the polished pros you often see.

Did you write all of that material yourself? From absolute scratch?

Thanks, I'll have to check that movie out. Yes, I wrote it all from scratch.

CunningStunt 10-19-2008 03:15 PM

Well done Steve, that was fucking funny in places.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 10-19-2008 03:40 PM

Ya let the pressure get to ya.
You are still afraid of the audience. The idea is not to care if they laugh they laugh, remember ya goto provoke a laugh by making them think.

Throw away the teacher's comic books they sold you and try not to rehearse the jokes or your lines. Just remember the core parts of a joke line, ad lib shit in.

Your stuff is funny though it really is.

My friends when I was working my way up with the guitar always said Mark its not your playing, your playing is fine, but you are afraid of the audience, you dont look confident. The only way to break this in an audience situation is not to care.

Thats the hardest part :)
Don;t give a shit if they laugh or not and do not wait for them to laugh, if they do fine they don't let it hurt your confidence. If ya hit a bad note fuck it, rip into the bad note and move on:)

Ya got talent though and I am not telling ya that cuz you are "Steve Lightspeed" I am tellin ya this because ya got potential to comedy man I seen tons of Comedians live from Chris Rock to Dana Carvy to Jim Carry:)

BT 10-19-2008 03:56 PM

Lmao, steve I am impressed!! The best part of the set is you can make fun of yourself as well. You get a 7 for your first stand up gig. Don't stay on one joke so long in my opinion. stick and move. You are on your way.:winkwink:

i think the success of many good comedians was just that they kept on moving, think seinfeld and how the show just keps on moving think rodney dangerfeild short to the point, ever watch those comedians on comedy central that want to talk about their girlfriend and dog for 10 minutes, very annoying.

good stuff

tony286 10-19-2008 04:32 PM

you did good:)

WinstonTriplexcash 10-19-2008 05:08 PM

Good job! A bit nervous, still good though.

d-null 10-19-2008 05:19 PM

now that you've got the first one in the bag, it will be much smoother rolling after this

Kudles 10-19-2008 05:24 PM

Nice job!!

rhon23 10-19-2008 05:43 PM

great to see you are getting yourself out there and trying something new. The first few times are always going to be difficult until you find your comfort level.

leg4 10-19-2008 06:40 PM

Steve isn't bi-polar...He's 1-polar.... always Rockin' he never stops!

not even to cock block!

LadyMischief 10-19-2008 07:18 PM

Very impressive!

Honestly, most people have NO idea how hard it is to do what you did.

So you did well with the performance and you did well with the material. Very great start!

"Comedian" will be well worth the watch. Listen to what they all say. There is some great insight and advice. See Jerry start over and follow as he develops a routine.

Do what they do. Do what they say.

You might also see/realize just how far along you really are with your act. Most "debuts" are total wrecks.

I would NEVER have guessed that was a "debut" act.

I want to see your next show too!!!

Jens Van Assterdam 10-19-2008 11:47 PM

Haha good job! Keep it up!

BabeHunter 10-20-2008 12:04 AM

very nice!

DutchTeenCash 10-20-2008 02:34 AM

good job Im sure that wasnt easy

good thing you wrote the jokes from scratch most ppl here in stand up just take theirs from google

thumbsup

People are more afraid of public speaking than death. SO i give mad credit for getting up thier and doing it !

So that bring ups a the fact you are willing to take risks! I like that!

I also like the fact you willing to try something new at your age with little or no finical rewards is awesome.

Im really impressed!

Thank you for bringing the girl shaking her butt back. I'll watch your video as soon as my eyes uncross.

SteveHardeman 10-21-2008 07:07 PM

Man, I tip my hat to you. That takes huge balls.

I would hyperventilate and collapse. That would probably make people laugh harder than anything I would say.
