Only way I can keep training (Not gym) is to do it first thing in the morning before the day gets crazy :thumbsup

d-null 10-19-2008 11:29 PM

just go, man

honestly, even if you are feeling tired or whatever, just get in the car and find yourself driving there, even if you fuck the dog when you are there, usually you will come to life once the blood starts flowing

if you keep it up enough, you will feel bad if you don't go

get a membership at a 24 hour place if you can too, that way getting too late can never be an excuse :2 cents:

bingo

the problem i have is that i am always thinking about how much work i wont be able to do because i have to go to the gym (which gives you a shitty excuse for going "tomorrow")

so what i do is get up, do cardio... eat... watch the news.. go to the gym & get it over with so i'm not thinking about it at all for the day anymore

if you're like me the hang up is the interference with work, if you absolutely DREAD going to the gym and are trying to get back into it... start eating clean for a week, then the next week go to the gym but jump around (no serious workouts 30-45 min), then the 3rd week begin your routine

that is how i get into it after i've been off for a while

you have to be in shape to go to the gym

lastly, if you're serious about your health & quality of life you should check your hormone levels & see where you're at

the less optimal your levels are the less energy you have, the slower you recover, the harder it is to gain muscle, lose fat, etc... who would want to go or be able to stick with it then?

good luck

I have to really regiment my day.

1st, I have to have something to watch. Like 24, or some other series. I trick myself to work out. I do not watch anything from the series, like new episodes, unless working out. So if I wanna see what happens next episode, I have to make sure to do my work out.

Next, I have to have a set time. Normally for me, its like 1P. I can't do it when I first wake up, and not at end of the day. Has to be in the middle sometime. I am worse at working out in the summer. I am more active, and its hard to make the time.

In the winter, I get pretty anal about my schedule, and turning phones off, etc.

Maybe tomorrow!!

I just recently started exercising again and I found that getting a personal trainer for a reasonable rate, even if it's for the first few weeks or so, makes you have to go. After a few weeks, it starts to kinda become part of your routine and you start getting motivated because you feel and look better.

Also, if you're not too familiar with exercise, heart rate, cardio, strengthening, etc, the trainer really helps because like for me, I have ZERO patience for walking/jogging on a treadmill or stairmaster for 30+ minutes. Plus I have knee and back problems. The trainer showed me many exercises away from the machines that really get your heart rate going and burn calories/fat. Lastly, the trainer helps you understand how to workout because if you're not doing things properly, it's pointless.

I work out for a few of the sports I do so I really don't have a choice. If I stop going to the gym for over a week I start to feel my age.

The best advice I can give is don't even think about. Find a gym that's very close and you actually enjoy going to. If you hate the members or the long drive, it will never work.

same here... had a good run for a few months then stopped again :( .. wouldve been in top shape now . shit

annaliese 10-20-2008 02:50 AM

Yeah that's true....even if I don't really feel like going, once I finish the first set of bench presses, I'm always glad that I came...In fact, I gotta hit the gym this morning and I can't wait to get there...

Best thing is to just keep going no matter what.

Well, I feel so good when I regulary go to gym... I think thatīs the better motivation. When I stop going for one or two week, I feel losing some kind of energy, I donīt feel so good, then I know I have to go back to gym.

Manowar 10-20-2008 06:15 AM

make it part of your daily life, get your friends going to it with you etc

Anthony 10-20-2008 06:15 AM

Make it a habit. One you enjoy.

I've had to stop due to injuries, and I get really fat. That alone is motivation.

Richard - Triplexcash 10-20-2008 06:19 AM

I try not to think about it too much, and just go. I always feel better after doing a workout.
