how about creating a porn union?
 

First of hello. this is my first post here but I have been reading the forum for a while.

I am looking to get into the adult business and while doing my market research I think I may have come up with some solutions so some complaints I have heard.

How about creating a union for porn producers and promoters?

objectives of the union could be

• Protect content by giving legal help
• promote ethical business practices (perhaps some kind of grading system)
• ensure that sites take steps to be friendly to parental filters e.g. using the RTA tag
• Give the industry a voice

One of the most common complaints that I have heard is that people are stealing content for tube sites and claiming it as user generated content.
It seems to me that this could be tackled by 2257 legislation? along with the standard intellectual property laws?

Like I said I am new here. It will take someone with a lot more experience to do this so feel free to run with the idea if you want.

Unions seek to stop exploitation of the workers
and the porn biz, ahem,...(cough, cough) well now, how do i put this.......

I for one think that a union can be a perfect weapon for producers to put pressure on websites with illegal content. The sooner these websites are closed the better for everyone!

and would be the perfect tool to put the little guys out of business.

this is a bad idea and should be dropped before it causes issues.

Isnt people stealing the little guys content more of a threat to their business?

I cant really see how an organisation that is there to protect porn promoters could do more damage than having a site-rip on torrent sites, or unlicensed full videos on a tube site?

I think that has been done, it's called the republican party.

The problem with Unions is they tend to try to tell people how to run their own business. It becomes a control thing at some point by using the power of the union to make the business do what the union wants.

Considering the porn biz is typically made up by people whom don't like to conform.. well it's destined to fail from the beginning.

better still a union against illegal tube sites like redtube and pornhub!

That being said Unions tend to help individuals in an already structured environment, not small business owners. The ideal of the union would conflict to greatly what the concept of free enterprise and that in itself would make this a bad idea.

Why does it have to be a union. Why can't there just be an organization that is in charge of supporting legal porn, and being a watch dog against illegal porn. When the legislators slid the "Anti Poker" bill in the Poker Players Alliance was started. It is supported by Poker Players, and online casinos. I think something like that would have a much higher chance of being accepted industry wide. Both adultproducersalliance.com and pornproducersalliance.com are available.

the porn industry has the mentality it's everyone for themselves. rarely ever do they come together on anything.
