Since Your Began Eating a Better Diet

Have you noticed that?

1. You are sick less?
2. Your energy level is up?
3. Your hair grows like a mother fucker?
4. Sleep better at night?
5. Weight loss?
6. Pinching a loaf like nobody's business?

:helpme

stickyfingerz 10-22-2008 08:18 PM

I started a diet when I got back from EU, have lost almost 20 lbs. It is the first time I have seen 200 in a very long time.

I hope my hair doesn't grow faster, I just got it cut.

Yes.

Once your body gets used to fruits and veggies. You can almost shit out fast food while eating it.

A bowl of Raisin Bran every evening helps too.

Hopefully you have some good mags to read as you tear out your O ring.

Nah, if eating right it comes out as easy as it went in. Just faster.

MUAH!

I noticed since last year when I started working out more, eating better, etc. that my health is better. Mood more consistent. Stopped taking Xanex, except when I travel. More regular, daily, trips to the can. No grief in the bedroom as things salute. Over all less fatigued, and stronger.

Just over all everything working better, and probably as it should.

The real test will be when I get on the road again. It is difficult to maintain this regimen when traveling. Maybe if I am lucky I can drop another 8-10 pounds before I go, then I can afford to cheat a little.

True.

I eat less when on the road at conferences or vacation. Odd as that is.

When I come home, I typically have dropped a few pounds. Part of it is I drink a lot more water, since I do not drink alcohol. Secondly, just eat less. Even though I am not as active as I would be at home. Jetski, lifting, treadmill.

same thing with me too, I've been trying to get my vitamins by food, so eating lots of varieties of vegetables every day and when I do go to fast food, it is always Mexican (which is alot better than mcdonalds... at least it is not deep fried and they have beans and guac etc)

cut out soda's almost completely too, drink those unsweetened or very lightly sweetened iced teas (no aspartame or any of that artificial chemical shit)

I drink that raspberry green tea stuff. Its good, and about the only way I can choke down that green tea. But that ranks up there with Veggie Beef soup. If you have ate junk, within and hour you will be on the shitter.

I don't necessarily eat more on the road, but when I do it is usually going to be at nice restaurants with multiple courses, etc. I try to stick to fish, but sometimes you are at a steakhouse, and when in Rome . . .

I think the biggest problem is that I don't get my nightly Raisin Bran, so I am not as "regular."

Oh, and the Starbucks. Can't forget those fuckers.

d-null 10-22-2008 10:40 PM

see if you can find this stuff, all organic, very very lightly sweetened with organic cane sugar or unsweetened, lots of different tea flavors, very good

I am same way. When on the road, I eat out, but tends to be higher end.

I do not like fish, so I am fucked there. But those fish oil pills will super charge your sex drive like a mofo.

They are just hard to swallow.:disgust

the stuff is getting big in the west coast, used to be only at organic grocery stores, but now you can find it at all kinds of gas stations and convenience stores

it is the best, I used to like Tazo but this stuff is way better, feels healthy when you drink it, not like soda or any of those artificial teas

http://honesttea.com/

I just noticed they have a store locator on the site... the stuff is cheap too, like $1.39 a bottle

dig420 10-23-2008 02:42 AM

ok so let's hear some good diet info. I work out quite a bit but I eat like shit, and every time I try to research how to eat well I run into fucking bullshit I can't deal with like counting calories and whatnot. Can I eat pasta? Bread? Fried chicken? Chili? Drink a lot of milk?

Just always seemed strange to me that it is ALWAYS the case that what tastes bad is what the govt. says is bad for you, and everything that tastes like shoe leather is good for you. I think it's just another reflection of our puritan 'Nothing that brings you pleasure is good for you' mentality. Enlighten me.

Bojangles 10-23-2008 02:54 AM

It really is amazing how much energy you will gain just by working out regularly. Unfortunately, most people don't want to stick with it.

I try to eat balanced. I'm not a calorie counter. When it comes to unhealthy foods, it's not so much what you eat, but how much of it you eat. Every 2 weeks or so I buy lots of goodies - cookies, chocolate bars, chips - and scarf them down. If you're active, your body is going to burn that stuff off anyway.

If the majority of your diet consists of vegetables, fruits, white meat (fish, chicken), low fat stuff like skim milk and zero fat yogurts, I think you're good to go. I eat toast and bagels regularily - I'm never cutting out bread. I also eat spaghetti all the time but I use extra lean ground beef and I drain out as much fat as possible once it's cooked before putting it on the spaghetti. I don't drink soda or coffee. Just water, milk, and some fruit juices like applejuice or orange juice from time to time.

I imagine getting sick less has as much to do with the foods you eat as with where you get it from. All those people handling food in enclosed areas around old equipment with tons of customers around in fast food resaurants is probably the perfect breeding ground for spreading illnesses.

So very true.

The biggest adjustment for me in the beginning was having to take naps because I was whipped. Then over time, I would have so much energy, I was not tired at night. Then it turned into I could not go to sleep unless I worked out. Body wanted to burn off the energy.

But all the way around, feel better, and getting strong, not sick like I have been in recent years past with killer colds, and sinus infections, etc.

Zuzana Designs 10-23-2008 05:36 AM

I have been on a diet the last 2 weeks .. I feel great !!!

Sarah_Jayne 10-23-2008 05:37 AM

Well, I can tell you what happened to me today. Over the past two years I have slowly lost nearly 100lbs (couple pounds to go). I had a check up at my doctor this morning to discuss medications that I have been on for the past four or so years to help with a hormonal condition. Well, as of today I no longer am on any medication because blood tests show there is no longer a need. That is down to eating better and dropping weight. I am looking forward to seeing what happens with the next 50lbs as I hit goal.

pornguy 10-23-2008 05:39 AM

I have my blood checked twice a year. Mainly because I drank, and chewed for a decade and I wanna make sure there is no long term damage. I have not done either for 3-4 years now. Maybe longer.

I know that my good cholesterol is higher than normal, so that's good. My weigh fluctuates up and down. Hopefully as more of that drops, I get out of the 100's for the diabetes risk. I have been in the low 100's while doing my blood tests. I would like to get out of that shit.

Yeah I haven't been sick in a really long time, and have been around sick people too.

Energy is amazing, but I cut out alcohol 3 years ago too which makes all the difference first of all.

Yep hair grows faster, almost half way down my back after trying to grow it out long since about 02.

I sleep better, metabolism is fantastic.

My weight always teetered up and down 10 pounds or so, enough to have to get new pants either direction. I gave away a bunch of my smaller cute jeans and then became a vegetarian, now I need to buy new pants as my size hasn't changed in about a year now! It is rather amazing.

I don't eat animal products, but I can eat just about anything else and stay slim and healthy now. I don't do much fast food either, other than subway or chinese.

Being female past thirty, people almost assume your ass is going to get huge for no reason. :1orglaugh

Good job Sarah keep it up. :thumbsup

I'm having a hard time taking on a diet. I feel and see myself fat, but others told me that my body is just fine. I really want to lose some weight.

I'm considering the blood of children to sustain me.

No, but really...cleanses are what makes me feel that way. I can party like a madman, eat like shit and gorge on all things hedonistic for a few months as long as I take a month and cleanse like mad. :winkwink:

HAPPYPEEKERS 10-23-2008 09:58 AM

I have totally changed my eating habits and lost 11 pounds so far and still going full force!!
That is alot on a 5 foot tall woman lol

woooo fucking hoooooo!!

BradM 10-23-2008 10:06 AM

At 360 I could barely walk up stairs without it hurting my body.

Losing weight meant I smelled awful and was a bit cranky (low sugar levels) but after awhile my entire outlook on life changed.

Being fat and sitting online all day lends to the "omg my life sucks" attitude. Being healthy can only encourage you to achieve great things.
