Need Design Inspiration: Luxury Websites

All,

I am in need of some inspiration. I am trying to put together a luxury store for a customer and need to come up with a 'luxury' look and feel.

Are there any luxury sites that you frequent that you like? Please post em if you got em!

Thanks for that. This site obviously has a lot of luxury brand names, but the look and feel of the site doesn't scream luxury...it's kinda bland, no?

Well yea, the site does look bland and doesn't scream luxury but it's extremely popular and well known... It's also the only website authorized on-line to sell authentic Louis Vuitton... I guess it doesn't need to scream luxury because the brands speak for themselves.

I just realized that the site was actually owned by the owners of LV. Wow...

But still...site is kinda lame.... :disgust

Most luxury items seem to be sold online with simple websites that highlight the product instead of the website.

Example: rolls-roycemotorcars.com and several other sites already suggested above.

I don't think you'll get much "luxury" design from most online shopping stores, even though you're building one. Each link above offered a "luxury" product but their website was plain -- albeit perhaps very usable, but not what you're asking for, right?

Maybe go checkout sites that have to "show" luxury but aren't selling luxury products on a piecemeal basis. Casinos, resorts, stuff like that. Get a feel for the luxury "wrapper" of those website and throw products into it, or something. *shrug*... Fuck, I dunno.

Casinos:

http://www.trumpcasinos.com/ -- same as above, or vice versus.

Or, if you're really bored, go through some design websites. http://deviantart.com has an interface & design section (go through top rated) for kicks.
