UFC 90: Anderson 'The Spider' Silva vs Patrick 'The Predator' Cotè - Tonight!!!

Cote has won his last three fights in a row, but that may not matter when he steps into the Octagon tonight with Silva, who has not lost a fight in 3 years.

My prediction: Silva in the 2nd round, by TKO.

Should be a good one!

:thumbsup

pornask 10-25-2008 01:01 PM

Gonna be a good fight. Silva's a beast. I'm rooting for our Canadian guy though :thumbsup

Turboface 10-25-2008 01:07 PM

My bad. Cote has won his last five fights in a row (three of them by KO).

WarChild 10-25-2008 01:08 PM

I'm thinking of putting some money on Cote. I wonder what the line is like right now.

JustDaveXxx 10-25-2008 01:10 PM

It would suck to be on the other end of Silva's business. He has 9 kids to feed and he lets no man get in the way of that.

IPK 10-25-2008 01:10 PM

I can't believe anyone would even consider putting money against Silva.

Not a lot, but Cote is a +475 underdog with knockout power and a solid chin. In this sport anything _CAN_ happen, more so than any other sport I'd say.

Now I don't expect Cote to win, but it's possible that he can, so I think I'll put just a little money on him.

RedShoe 10-25-2008 01:14 PM

I hope Anderson Loses. It's WAY more exciting to watch the underdog win.

The line is Anderson Silva (-600) and Patrick Cote (+350).

BodogLife has Cote +475

Martin 10-25-2008 01:32 PM

Im hoping my fellow Canadian pulls off the upset.

johnuk 10-25-2008 01:36 PM

£50 on Cote by flying heel hook in the 2nd :thumbsup

Drake 10-25-2008 01:41 PM

If Cote gets in one or more good shot to Silva's head, he'll win. He has to make sure Silva doesn't start landing multiple knees. Henderson did pretty good against Silva, overpowering him, until Silva started feeding him knees. This Cote guy is stronger than Silva and has a tougher chin (both things that Henderson had over Silva). But it's Silva's superior speed, agility, and combinations that Cote has to control to win.

Hey if you have a few bucks that you consider entertainment money or whatever, as long as you really do not need it much. Say you would of blown it on alcohol or something else. Then really what is the harm. Odds say you will loose it. If he gets past the odds, you are one happy mofo.

You can get Cote for +575 at 5dimes.com with their online reduced juice right now and they are night and day better than Bodog, at least in my opinion. I have been steadily making money betting dogs in MMA for several years and that is the only way to bet MMA. Tyson Griffin at +230 over Sean Sherk is also worth a look...

In the UK it's on setanta, I am so glad I seen this thread as I had forgotten to set the tv.

Drake 10-25-2008 04:13 PM

I think Silva is going to take victory rather easily. Cote seems like a very conventional fighter which makes him an easy target for Silva.

xentech 10-25-2008 04:51 PM

What time is this going down?

It all starts 10pm EST.

Turboface 10-25-2008 07:37 PM

FUCK YOU TIME WARNER!

I am unable to order this event due to some upgrades they are doing to their system. I just got off the phone with one of their new customer service representatives. I have never even heard of such bullshit. I am half tempted to run up to Buffalo Wild Wings, up the road, and catch it there, but na - fuck it. I'll download it tomorrow.

LOL. People post streams then take donations at the bottom of the page. Gotta love where this world is going.

But that fight was terrible. How do you tear up your knee on a little hop like that?

P.S. Tell Joe Rogan to buy a razor

He said he hurt his knee in the second, it came apart in the third.

Exactly! Anderson kicked him there a few times in the second round and once on his left leg so hard it spun him around and twisted it. It was just a matter of time before it popped out.

And yes, Joe Rogan needs to shave.

Puremeds-J 10-25-2008 10:57 PM

talk about a disapointing end to a fight

I haven't seen such an anti-climatic main event since, well last month's Kimbo fight!

As far as Rogen's beard, he is just growing it (with some other guys) as a tribute, over the last two months, for some MMA guy that died. But, ya, he doesn't look good with a beard - at all.

mynameisjim 10-25-2008 11:04 PM

Didn't know it got hurt earlier. I guess that explains it. Not much you can do if your knee blows like that I suppose.

The ref told him that he cannot continue even after he got up and tried to finish.
