So I raced a Porsche and nearly crashed (Video)

Saturday morning around 7am I was on the way to the garage when a Porsche overtook me. I followed and we raced 50km on the Autobahn. We were next to each other at 155mph when some asshole decided to change from the far right lane on to the middle lane.
I slowed down quicker and the Porsche got in front of me just in time before crashing into the 60mph Jetta.

I hate these asshole drivers that don't follow the rules. Slow driver stick to the right lane.

Hate drivers that do not follow the rules used in the same story as a Porsche overtook me... I followed and we raced.

I am confused.

Jens Van Assterdam 10-27-2008 06:58 AM

Wait... you drive 155mph and take out your cellphone to film that?

huda 10-27-2008 06:58 AM

Three basic rules apply:

1. Drive as fast as you want (if no speed limit)
2. Drive on the most right lane if there is no car to overtake.
3. Do not overtake from the right side.

There is nothing unusual in going 155mph, it has become an everyday speed here.

It's not about the speed it's the carelessness

You live in Germany I guess as I know that some of the autobahns still have no speed limits..am I correct ?

DutchTeenCash 10-27-2008 07:13 AM

I drive on the german autobahn every week

if youre doing 155 filming this at night and almost crashing its your own fault, it has zero to do with a Jetta doing 60, that is exactly why they limit the autobahn more n more these days

bronco67 10-27-2008 07:22 AM

You probably would have done us all a favor if you ate it at 155mph.

A bit less than 50% of Germany's Autobahn has no speed limit

Trax 10-27-2008 07:29 AM

155 mph is nothing too special on a german autobahn especially when its late and there are not many cars
but why anyone would want to film anything at that speed is still kinda stupid if you ask me

Yes it does. Check before you change lane.
Don't you ever see people just pulling out without looking in the rear view mirror first?

It was kinda stupid, and not the point.

Just why would someone just leave his lane for no reason. I dont see that happening in the city, everyone checks the mirrors and change. On the Autobahn it is different. You just pull out because "there is space" until someone crashes into your trunk

I raced a ferrari yesterday :stoned

BV 10-27-2008 07:41 AM

driving 60 on the autobahn is more stupid (unless you are a semi restricted to the far right lane)
the jetta was probably drunk or being an ass.

people talk on their cellphones here all the time doing 70 and 80, you can die just as easy at that speed

luckily my bike's speedo has a memory, (no need for pics) i hit 130 here in the US almost every time i get on it

it happens all the time yes that why your Porsche has a nice set of brakes

Still id suggest take the Ring next time spend some $ and you can drive with real racecars and unlimited speeds without the granny doin 60 safer and more fun

sltr 10-27-2008 09:23 AM

there's a big difference between no speed limit and racing.

baddog 10-27-2008 09:51 AM

Video quality sucks. Did he hit the Jetta or not?

dav3 10-27-2008 10:18 AM

Talk about not following the rules... I'm sure theres a law in your country that prohibits drivers from driving while distracted.
