First Affiliate Sale - Conversion Ratios OK?
I got my first affiliate sale a few days ago for Brazzers. 1:423 conversion ratio.
My question is, is it good, average or below average? Of course I have to wait for my next few sales to be able to give a more accurate conversion. |
normal :)

Pretty good. Nothin to worry about :)

That today is actually on the better side. Most are seeing in the 500 to 700 range now. Up from that past by about 150 to 250.
But the trick is to post stats showing that consistently. Its not really good until you have 5 a day at that ratio. understand what I mean? |
Well said Pornguy. You can't really say anything about conversions until you have sent at least 10k uniques imho.
|
i agree. i got a few first conversions but everynow and then you get lucky on the first site and get a few, then it tails off a bit. i havent had a sale in a few weeks now. until i get better seo and im workin on that. my conversion rate was 1:1600 and that was using adwords getting anyone that clicked on the linnk. cost me to much so i stopped the ads. at least i knew the site worked. lol

Congrats on your first sale.
1:423 does look good but you need at least 10 sales to talk about ratios. |
Congrats :thumbsup
Ratio is good so far, but as baX said, one sale is not a subject to talk about ratios :) |
Sales ratios are very very hard to judge based on minimal traffic. In the end you get a much more accurate view, the more traffic you send. That being said here is what you want to do for all the affiliate programs you use. This is important because you want to track who is doing good for you and who isn't.
So what you do is write down the total traffic to each of your own websites each month. Your web hosting provider should install a stats program like AWstats for you to be able to get this number. Track this per site, every month - forever. Next write down how much traffic each month you send to your sponsors. With like Vivid Cash (as an example) they break their stats down into two week pay periods, so you have to go into advanced stats to pull the data you need for the entire month. So you wrote down how much traffic you send per month and then how much you earn. I also break it down into days. So let's say I sent (again using Vivid Cash as the example) them 10,843 for the month and earned $1,410 (just grabbing one of my site stats from September with Vivid cash). There are 30 days in September so divide that by 30. So my traffic stats would read MONTH DAY 10,843 361 Now for the month with that website I earned $1,410. Again there are 30 days in September so I divide that # by 30 and we get my average daily earnings, which is $47. MONTH DAY MONTH DAY 10,843 361 $1,410 $47 Now take what you earned for the month and divide it into the traffic you sent them and then you get an idea about how much each "click" is worth to you. In this case it's $.13. If you see that this number starts to drop dramatically each month or that one program is producing way less than the others, you know to ditch the bad one and go with the good one. I mean why send your traffic to a program where you earn $.001 per click when another is paying you $.04 per click? |

Try also promoting our site. It has an unique niche (Colombian Girls) and some of our Affiliates are doing even 1:44 . Hard to believe ? well not that hard its joust logic, its easyer to promote an unknown site or not ? then one that everybody is promoting. |
Varies....depending on where your traffic is coming from.
|
that is a good ratio but you will have to expect variations until you have alot more of a sampling to get a good feel for your traffic
good job though, keep it up :thumbsup |
