Sony Vegas Question! Red Frames On Video Stream!

Hey guys! hope someone can give me a hand with this, quick question :P

I'm editing some videos for my paysite, i'm editing two video formats, .avis with MPEG4 video stream and .mpgs with MPEG1 video stream, the first ones for those who want to download files with better quality and the last ones for those willing to play files on any platform ( Standard WMP installations without any codec installed, MAC standard installation, linux boxes, etc ).

The problem i'm having when opening the videos on Sony Vegas is that in the .avis, i only can see and play/edit the audio stream, and when opening the .mpgs i can also see/edit the audio stream and in the video stream i can only see something like RED FRAMES :(

The thing is that on the same machine i'm being able to play all this videos on WMP and winamp, whats going on ? what am i doing wrong ? how can i fix this in order to be able to edit the video stream of the .avis and .mpegs ?!?!?

Sounds like missing codecs.
You can download the free Video Inspector and check to see what is missing and download it.

Welcome to Vegas video. Go to the vegas site and look it up. They issued a patch that fixed the red and black frames of death.

search this page for the m2tsplug.zip file. It fixes that shit.
