McCain really is running a bad campaign.

When it is all over and done with he will have to look back and wonder what went wrong (that is saying he doesn't pull off the upset of the century on Tuesday). When he asks that question he has to wonder why he did some of the things he did.

I live in Oregon. Depending on which poll you believe he is losing by anywhere from 15-20 points in this state yet today he spent money running ads against Obama here. Why? First off we vote by mail so most of the voting is already done. Actually as of today there were very few political ads even on TV. So after the voting is all but done here he spends some of his precious few dollars advertising in a state that he as zero chance of winning. About 10 days ago he had Palin out campaigning in California a state he is losing by around 25 points or more all the while he is suddenly in danger of losing his home state of Arizona.

Having seen how he has run his campaign I wouldn't hire him to manage a McDonalds.

Only part that has me slightly worried is that Palin, even though she has taken a lot of heat and will even after the campaign - will stick around and get more powerful unlike about every other loosing VP nominee in history. Her charisma, looks, popularity with some, and quirky ass family will keep her in the spotlight. Does not matter at all if she is stupid or intelligent. Some people love her and see her as some ubber savior.

Like that stops anyone who has a mainline into the christian base. Nothing says she has to play in congress or anything else. It can be radio, TV, or as leader of some christian area.

I guess I have to disagree on some level with you. She scares me. I think she is a full on nutcase, but after the election she will go back to Alaska and do her thing. Maybe she runs for re-election, but I think more likely in a few years she might run for and win a senate seat from Alaska. Still she has the smell of a loser on her. Look a John Edwards. Pre-election everyone in the democratic party loved him, yet he got his ass kicked right out the gate because the voters see him as a loser (and to me he always came of kind of smarmy like a used car salesman).

I think the religous far right loves her and that alone will keep her around, but the independents have spoken and she is too far to the right for their liking and in the end it is the independents that you need to win if you want to get elected. I would see her as being someone like Hukabee. She could run and she might win some of the bible belt states, but as soon as she moves into the more moderate states her star will fade. And if she thought the media was tough on her now, wait until she she is running for president.

in that case, then yes.. i could totally see fox offering her a show like huckabee, but i think it would be short lived...
