Improvement options for my site SexRobot.com

I have a website that has been up for a couple years, called SexRobot.com. I had bought the great domain name to hang on to but decided to try a hand with it for my first-ever adult website. A few months after starting it I was getting around 500 visitors a day and the afiliates earned me up to $1000/month. Since then, I have made very few posts, losing interest in it, I have not updated the affiliate programs I show, and hence my traffic has slowed somewhat but still in the low hundreds each day. but my income has gone down to around $300/month.

So. I'm sitting here looking at this, thinking that I should really make an effort to try to do something with it. Problem is that I really don't know anything about running adult sites.

So I have three questions:

1) What can I do to make more money on the site as is? I know one answer is to post way more often, and find more and better affiliates?

2) What other option do I have with that site to change it completely, utilizing the traffic I have now and the great domain name (I have some pretty sophisticated ideas, but I'm not going to be able to get into film production; but maybe that can be hired out).

3) What really is the future of affiliate income on adult sites. It just seems to me that there is SO MUCH free contents, with great full-length videos at places like RedTube and YuVuTu and the others? Doesn't this really reduce any potential?

I'm not an active member here, but I hope maybe some of you can provide me with some advice. In addition, I'm open to paying consulting fees if someone has a really great idea to make some real money with it. Or, if you have an affiliate program that fits perfect with my domain name/site and have an idea of how we can make money together on it, let me know.

In other words, I'm all ears.

Fist thing you have to ask your self, is do you have ENOUGH money in your pocket?

If you do, shut the site down and move on.

If not, If you are like most of us, and there is NEVER enough, then start reinvesting in your site and rebuild your program.

If you need upsells we have some great sites that convert really well. Check out my sig.

Of there s never enough money (well here was before the credit crisis!!), so I have to rebuild. And that's pretty much my question. What should my plan be going forward? Do I have the basis of something unique (blog vs simply showing photos/videos and getting people to pay for more) that I should build on? I know sex robots are decades away, but people are interested in porn they can control, from "love dolls" to POV controllable video to those animated sites user can control. Is this worthy of focusing on still? At least it would be unique.

I sure wish there was a quality doll maker like RealDoll.com that would have an affilate program, because that would be a DIRECT product for my content. Does anyone know if there is? Or is anyone involved in such a company that might have some creative ideas for me to sell them?

On this issue, the short answer is... Dating and webcams. Like you said, there is a ton of free content out there already and therefore I would recommend pushing more and more dating and webcams... see sig. :winkwink: $150 per sale on webcamclub currently.

Other than that you have a nice domain, which is always worth its weight in gold. If you'd like to hit me up feel free and I will help you out with any ideas as much as possible.

Another Webcam Programm here if u wanna check :)

Why do webcam programs do so well when there are so many free video sites out there?

What about creating a site that sells "blow up dolls," silicone pussies, and all those things that people will have to settle for until the day of "sex robots". I believe there actually is a two or three thousand dollar "sex doll" on some of the sex toy stores I can affiliate with too; not the quality of z RealDoll I'm sure though.

good luck on it... 300/mo aint bad for a site with minimal labor...

I agree with Jayvis that dating and webcams are the way to go nowadays, but your domain is SexRobot.com and you're targeting individuals that like dolls, virtual gfs, etc., which is a far cry from what dating and webcams is all about.

Klixxx did a feature a couple months ago about dolls, called ?My Girlfriend Is A Real Doll. No, really!? Give it a read, may give you some ideas.

To keep the domain going, I would post more and consider leveraging social networking avenues, like a forum. At DollForum.com, they have a lot of people posting everyday about sex with dolls, doll repair, and even posting pictures of their sex dolls...Look at the forum, I bet it'll give you a TON of ideas:thumbsup

Feel free to email me and/or ICQ me if you want to chat more!

That makes sense Mona, but the problem is this whole doll thing is not anything I am into personally--just picked up the domain name some time ago--and don't really want to hang with that crowd on a personal level. Just not my thing.

So, what if there was already no site and I just had this name. Any great ideas for a fresh start come to mind?

Hey, I have a question, there are a lot of themed adult video web sites, where all the videos revolve around one specific type of activity. I can see a site with my name where women behave in the videos like sex robots, but the problem is that I'm not one who will set up a studio and start filming this myself. Are there companies that create custom videos for webmasters upon demand? Or women that have a studio set up for their own sites and will create videos for me.

I understand it's hard to get "excited" about something if you're not personally into it...I would partially maintain the doll aspect, however, since it goes along with the URL and you probably have recurring visitors. Also, forums often run themselves with minimal moderation...

I would get in touch with http://www.andreacontent.com/ ...They make everything, from softcore to the most extreme niches. http://www.amateurczech.com/ also creates custom content.

You may look at manga, hentai and anime content too, or even cosplay content, since it goes along with the whole doll theme, but is different.

You can see other content providers here, but those above are what stands out as custom...

Its about YOU controlling the action.

Watching a porn its not the same as telling the girl next door to do whatever u want.

And for some this is the easyest way to cheat on their wives without getting catch.

Sounds like I should definitely try webcams.

If I might hijack my own thread for a sec...I have read that if I don't cloak my affiliate codes then I'll be losing lots of money since some people like to strip out the codes. But then I have heard that if I do that, Google will penalize me. What is the right thing to do?
