That list is kind of misleading. If a site doesn't allow uploads, it's not a tube site.

What makes a tube site a tube site, is the ability to upload.

I believe whoever says this is a little retarded. just because youtube is based off of user uploads people think this is the case. that is YOU tubes reason for being called YOU tube. Because YOU upload to content. YOU make the site. If i make a site that are of my videos and call it MYtube. That means its not a tube site?

Totally disagree.

Tube is a term for slang television... so in short... a place where you can watch video. You Tube was called that because it encouraged YOU to be featured in videos, the functionality of upload had nothing to do with it, it just became one of the consequences of the format of the site, but that doesn't make TUBES not a "tube site" because you can't upload, technically, the administrator is the one "uploading".
