farkedup 11-07-2008 04:01 PM

dedicated video encoder could probably stay under 2Tb and would be badass with that much CPU power and fast drive speed.

TidalWave 11-07-2008 04:03 PM

We could work something out with some additional bandwidth for free. I was thinking about making the offer originally with a bit more included :)

HomerSimpson 11-07-2008 05:31 PM

bump for a really nice server offer!

LOL dude I know all that my point was why are they any different than any other host ?...LOL Also FYI leasing all your equipment is not a prudent way to run a sucessfull profitable busiess. In the long run you will pay to much for the server, but I guess if your biz is small and not able to benefit from the savings you get but payinmg upfront in cash you need to do what you need to do...LOL anyway nice shot on your cheap shot at spamming yourself...:1orglaugh

farkedup 11-08-2008 10:35 AM

74 * 48 = 3552 VS 2761 that may seem like a big number BUT it means splitting the cost of the server across FOUR YEARS

Last I checked Dell doesn't rape you for paying your shit off early. Lets say you wanted to grow in a hurry. Instead of buying 20 of those servers at a cost of like $60k out of pocket you pull $1400 out of pocket.

Now lets say once you get somebody paying for the server instead of just paying that $74 every month you pay $150 which would basically mean the loan ends up being paying in 1.5-2yrs instead of the 4.

Its often more about cash FLOW than total cash. Do you feel like dropping $60k out of pocket on servers?

well said, thats how most SMEs do their stuffs/expand. My previous company in the engineering line does that to expand the number of CNC machines at a lower cost, spread over some years.

btw, sick machine there :)
