Are you more social online, or offline?

I was just reading this thread JenniDahling made, and it made me think.

I am more social on the internet than in real life. :1orglaugh

I've never been one to like large crowds or groups of people. But that's just me.

I know there has to be more anti-social nerds out there like myself.

Do you hang out with lots of people and socialize more offline than on the net?

HorseShit 11-10-2008 08:40 AM

way more social online

Fletch XXX 11-10-2008 08:41 AM

Megan Essog 11-10-2008 08:43 AM

It comes and goes for me... I am social online sometimes more than not... but I usually am social in general!

MsNikkiNefarious 11-10-2008 08:44 AM

I am much more social online than offline...I'm really a big ol dork at heart so it's hard for me to be outgoing in person!

everywhere I go online I stare at tits and drink beer... When I go out I like to do the same.

yeah it is much easier to deal with people online. :1orglaugh

I used to run a hard goods business doing custom stuff, and it is the reason I first got caller id.

The phone would ring, and I'd get anxiety because it was like doing customer service myself. Never again. :upsidedow

I like talking to people and really getting a feel for who they are. I find that people can be more honest or completely dishonest online - kinda hard to tell who they really are.

In person you see body language that you miss when you talk online. Common sense but you get the idea.

bausch 11-10-2008 11:07 AM

much more online... i actually talk to people on forums back and forth etc

Horny Joe 11-10-2008 11:18 AM

NORMALLY I am much, much more social offline, but due to .... things... I am now mostly stuck to being social online. But, i am starting to be good at that, too :D

Some days the most I interact with another real human being is placing my order and then saying thanks to the guy at the takeaway place... some days I don't even go to the takeaway bar.

cherrylula 11-10-2008 11:37 AM

I actually started using facebook recently after discovering a bunch of my cousins are on there.

Some of them are in Europe, and across the USA. So its pretty cool to just message them on there.

My cousin was off at naval duty and we were chatting. Its great!

even better than having them show up at your house and needing favors. :1orglaugh

One day, we went to the taco bell drive through, and the guy at the register did not say a single word to us, nor did we to him. Gave him the money, got the change with zero words. It was almost awkward. :1orglaugh

then as we drove to the next window to get our food, the guy was hanging his head out the window just looking around, like he was really miserable. :1orglaugh

CaptainHowdy 11-10-2008 11:42 AM

Antisocial everywhere ...

Tam 11-10-2008 11:43 AM

I am pretty sociable online and offline. I don't like large crowds, and I don't go partying or anything like that. But I will talk to anyone about just about anything.... I am usually the one to strike up a conversation.

As far as intimate friendships and other like social things, I am far more sociable online.

now you made me sad just reading that :(

Babaganoosh 11-10-2008 11:52 AM

Neither one. I have a small group of friends that I have known for 15+ years. I don't really have any desire to make new friends. I know the ones I have and I know I can trust them.

I don't deal with social networking sites either. I am a very private person (nice way to say anti-social prick). I'm proud to say I have never touched myspace or facebook and I never will.

TurboAngel 11-10-2008 11:58 AM

I'm more social offline.

:)

don't be sad. At least the guy was looking out the window. I take that as his realization that there *is* more out there than a job at taco bell.

Its the complacent ones that make me sad.
