Any old school WWF wrestling fans in the house?

So I got word a couple months ago that im related by marriage to Maxx Payne from the old school hogan and sting days of wrestling. Anyway im meeting up at my mother's house to have an early thanksgiving with her and them.

hes the one doing the damage in this clip

Here he is fighting with Cactus Jack against the Nasty Boys

Anyway - going to meet him for the first time.

Anyone else have some semi-famous relatives?

Around the time Shawn Micheals and Vader were dukin it out BAD... I used to watch that shit. They really hated eachother.

I was flying to Rhode Island to see some family and had a layover in Detroit. Where I saw Vader, Shawn Micheals, Steve Austin and Brett Heart I think. They were chillin at the airport having drinks together :mad:

I have been the same since :(

I miss those days... :(

Darkland 11-14-2008 12:15 PM

Fuck yeah!!! Ultimate Warrior was my favorite and for tag team it was the Bush Whackers.
:thumbsup

farkedup 11-14-2008 12:18 PM

Back before they were so open about it being fake LOL The good shit is back when they used to cut their own faces to make shit bleed like crazy

StuartD 11-14-2008 12:26 PM

It was pretty amazing watching some interviews with Hulk Hogan later about how honoured he was that Andre the Giant "passed the torch" to him that night.... that Andre was the biggest thing wrestling had ever seen, not just because of his size.

And if Andre really wanted to beat Hogan that night... he could have... easily. Hogan admitted in the interview that he was no match for him under any circumstances and what Andre did that night was truly far more remarkable than Hogan being able to slam him.

Grr... missed it. I mean, obviously I've seen it but I love that stuff. It's a lot of fun looking back at stuff like that.

RamsesPickUp 11-14-2008 12:54 PM

I'm actually going to a party with the Iron Shiek in December. He'll fuck Hulk Hogan in the ass and make him humble!

Been a wrestling freak between late 1993 (WM 9) and 1997 or so

WWF only... Diesel, Shawn Michael, Bret Hart, Undertaker, Yokozuna, that kind of era

stopped following wrestling all together when all the best guys went to WCW
i guess I missed most of the NWO then but well i got too old for that shit as well :winkwink:

I loved Ultimate Warrior and the British Bulldogs. However I also loved the Wolf pack. They kicked ass, Big Poppa Pump and company. I also remember the dumb shit..like Brother Love (I love you..) and the Mouth of the South. "To be the man, you gotta beat the man!"

Mohawk Steve 11-14-2008 01:41 PM

Yeeeears back when I was in XPW's School I got to meet a ton of guys. New Jack (cool motherfucker!), Kronus, Sabu, Abdullah the Butcher and even Playboy Buddy Rose. Buddy Rose was a cool guy, had a few occasions I got to listen to him tell stories from the good ol' days :thumbsup

And got to witness Kronus selling Abdullah a pastrami sandwich for $20 :1orglaugh

Back in the early 70's a lot of American wrestlers spent a season down here in Australia. We had our own show 'World Championship Wrestling' with a mix of local overseas talent. My father was a hydraulic engineer and used to oversea the service of the rides at the Sydney showground so we always had free tickets to the Horeden Pavillion where the shows were held.
I remember seeing Andre the Giant in a pole match, Brute Bernard (who I believe blew his brains out in a game of Russian Roulette, Cyclone Negro from Venezuala, Bobby Shane who died in a plabe crash, Ron Miller & Larry O'Dea, our local tag team heroes, Steve Rackman, the local bad guy, the Sammartino's and so many more. Those were the days.
Never seen anyone as big as Andre on real life, he was a true giant.

bloggingseo 11-14-2008 02:16 PM

I'm a huge fan! Let us know if he is totally cool. I bet he is. I loved Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and all of those. Of course I'm a new school fan too. I still watch it

Today's wrestling is ok but old school rocked. How devastating was the Hogan Leg Drop? Lol.

eprater78 11-14-2008 03:16 PM

I have an uncle by marriage and his nephew is Landon Donovan. I don't think that would actually make me related to him in anyway though.
