That reminds me. I got raped by Expedia.com a few years ago with prechecked insurance (on 5+ plane tickets). I called immediately after and they refused to refund.

You guys must be going to a different godaddy than the one I use. I have never had a pre-checked anything with them, and I have over 300 domains there.

nope same godaddy :) i have been hit with multiple cross-sales with them also. They aren't "pre-checked" though , they have those intersitials that ask you to add all sorts of products, pretty annoying really. i would almost rather they had 5 or 6 prechecked cross-sales but on one page

ya i see the other offers, but after about your 2nd or 3rd purchase, you know to just scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "No Thanks, proceed to checkout".

They do have a lot of unchecked cross sales, but it takes only 5-10 seconds total to move through them. The charges are also very clear at the end, and there is a link to remove any product that the customer doesn't want in the final list of charges.

yep, like i've been telling everyone, travel insurance is a huge one, almost always prechecked on many travel sites... GoDaddy has prechecks too

I am beginning to think this thread is just full of people who have sites with pre-checks who are trying to make everyone think that it's totally normal and ok, by filling people's head with lies.

I would like nothing more than to be proven wrong, but so far not one person has stepped up and done it, just more and more people posting falsehoods.

There are none, we are all lying. And there's no money in doing the pre-checked x-sells. And the chargeback ratio is shutting everybody down. And Visa is going to stop credit card processing because of it.

yes they have pre-checked. But, the difference is they are listed in the total due summary and you can easily uncheck them directly to the right of that, way way way before you even get to where you enter the billing information.

But yes, you are correct, finally someone showed me, they were pre-checked.

The difference is, the precheck for the airline is stuck in the middle of a bunch of shit and hard to see. The precheck on the ones "hidden" (according to screen resolution, user font and size, widescreen monitor or not, etc. ) is usually there surrounded by nothing but background of the page.

Ya the big red bold letter "Optional Travel Insurance" is really hard to see. And the difference actually is that the pre-checks are above the credit card information, have the price CLEARLY listed in bold red with a lot of space around it so it's very hard to miss, and it's not in some smaller font, hidden below the submit button.
