Do you think the US will cut down on LEGAL immigration due to the Recession?
All indications point to the current economic downturn as an unusual recession. Unusual in its severity. Unusual in its potential duration.
With that said, do you think the mass joblessness created by this recession would make IMMIGRATION RESTRICTIONS (on legal immigration, illegal immigration is, well, already illegal :) )? Would it take the form of a straight up ban so local Americans can get jobs or do you see it being subtle (ie., restricting family unification provisions in the immigration code and cutting down on H1B/H2B visas)? |
Well starting in February 2009 visitors will be allowed in the States only upon online registration and application

Recessian probably won't affect immigration cases 'cause they will only consider about it if affected US homeland security.
