Has Facebook changed the way you do business?

This show was the first show that I've felt the facebook effect in how we do business. For the first time at a show people were calling me by my first name instead of Shap. Also, people I had never met before knew who I was without looking at my badge. I find facebook has made things more personal and has been a great tool for business. It is definitely the quickest form of communication and seems to really help get business rolling and create a solid working relationship.

Anybody else experiencing the same?

TripleXPrint 11-24-2008 04:05 PM

Not really. I think it's just Myspace for grown ups.

I'm always the last one to catch on to stuff like this. Maybe I need to setup a facebook profile :(

Facebook apps are a great way to get targeted traffic.

Also, facebook ads are the solution to some (depending on your niche) Google's Slap of 'low quality' landing pages

NaughtyRob 11-24-2008 04:07 PM

Barely use Facebook.

Yeah Facebook is great for business people. Not so much models (at least from my experience). The only bitch is managing family, friends, acquaintances and business contacts.

I only have real friends and a couple family on facebook, not sure I want to mix biz on there.

You can make lists for your friends and categorize them that way, that's what I do. (adult industry, family, BC, Ontario)
As for doing business with facebook? Nah, not really. I don't actually have anyone in my list that I haven't met face to face at least once already.

Myspace on the other hand, I don't know who half the people are in my list there :1orglaugh

never used it and don't plan on it

dynastoned 11-24-2008 06:28 PM

facebook blows glad it worked out for you.

LiveDose 11-24-2008 07:02 PM

I set one up about 6 months ago and added 4 people. Today I decided to try searching for old friends and it is crazy how quickly you can find people through the network. I have chatted and called people that I haven't seen in 15 years.

Crazy.

tony286 11-24-2008 07:03 PM

your real name is not shap?

munki 11-24-2008 07:04 PM

I twitter all my business...

slapass 11-24-2008 07:05 PM

I use it for personal only. I try to keep the professional stuff off of there and maybe that is hurting me?
