A GROUP of teenagers involved in a crash that killed an 82-year-old man and left his 72-year-old partner fighting for her life had fast food delivered to them at the crash site, a witness says
there you go.

"Involved in" does not equal "caused." Besides, there was only one driver of the kids car, right?

The fact that they're teens and that the car was a Subura WRX says they caused it.

Well both the others involved were over 70, and McCain was said to be inept, so maybe those older people were inept. Point being it did not say the kids caused the crash.

andy83 11-25-2008 01:20 AM

thats kinda sucky.

Vicious_B 11-25-2008 07:12 AM

Even if they didnt cause the crash to stand by like they were watching a movie and to have food delivered on top of that shows a real lack of empathy.

NickB. 11-25-2008 07:30 AM

thats fucked up!

rayadp05 11-25-2008 08:22 AM

Fucking stupid damn teenagers. No respect for anyone but themselves.

"The elderly couple were in a van involved in a collision at a Gold Coast roundabout with an unregistered car allegedly driven by a disqualified teen driver on Saturday"

"Residents who lived near the roundabout in Miami said that as they rushed to help the couple, the five teenagers in the Subaru WRX got out and watched."

"While residents comforted the distressed woman, the five teens stood motionless on the footpath, he said."

"Mr Waymouth and another man, Fabian Atzori, said none of the youths attempted to help."

"They just stood there, and then they sat down and then someone dropped Maccas off to them," he said.

"Police interviewed the five youths at the scene. The driver was charged with obstructing police while three of the others were handcuffed but not charged. "

DID ANY OF YOU SIDING WITH THESE TEENS EVEN READ THE ARTICLE...

If anyone in this thread thinks what those kids did was perfectly normal and acceptable then you a part of the problem in this world. People, especially the youth these days, don't give one shit about anyone or anything but themselves. They have no respect for anything or anyone but themselves. It's all ME ME ME ME ME. I call it the "Me Generation".

Sorry, I have seen shock first hand many times... You don't call up friends and have them deliver food to the scene of an accident and munch down if you are in shock.

You really are an idiot, aren't you? You are the one that is guessing.

Just because a car is not registered does not mean the driver caused the crash.
Just because a driver is "disqualified" does not mean they caused the crash.
Obstructing police is not a moving violation.

Tom_PM 11-25-2008 11:20 AM

Disgusting behavior for any human being. There should be good samaritan laws, even though there should not need to be. Simple compassion should be standard, default setting in human babies still. I wonder if they're not being shown compassion, or if it's a gene in regression (horrifying thought).

Show me where it says that, I would be interested to know. And I am not pinning down an actually age group. My comments pretain more to a societal attitude covering a wide range of age groups, the youth being the worst of course.

Tom_PM 11-25-2008 11:22 AM

Whats the purpose of determining who caused a crash? If I caused it, I help you. Otherwise you die? I dont get it.

"The world is passing through troublous times. The young people of
today think of nothing but themselves. They have no reverence for
parents or old age. They are impatient of all restraint. They talk as
if they knew everything, and what passes for wisdom with us is
foolishness with them. As for the girls, they are forward, immodest
and unladylike in speech, behavior and dress." - Peter the Hermit in A.D. 1274

"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for
authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place
of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their
households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They
contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties
at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers." Socrates (or other ancient)

"I mean such things as these? when the young are to
be silent before their elders; how they are to show respect to them by
standing and making them sit; what honour is due to parents; what
garments or shoes are to be worn; the mode of dressing the hair;
deportment and manners in general. You would agree with me?" - Plato

"I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on
frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond
words...
When I was young, we were taught to be discreet and
respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly wise
[disrespectful] and impatient of restraint" - Hesiod, 8th century BC

"What is happening to our young people? They disrespect their elders, they disobey their parents. They ignore the law. They riot in the streets inflamed with wild notions. Their morals are decaying. What is to become of them?" - Plato

"The manners of children are deteriorating... the child of today is coarser more vulgar... than his parents were." - CG Heathcote in 1898

Which proves my point precisely... This is why there is a continuing trend of moral decay, with each generation surpassing the last generation. Don't think so? Then think about this... Does today's youth act or behave like the youth of say 50 years ago? No, they do not.

I honestly don't know. Some would argue that the youth of the 60s with their sexual revolution, anti-war demonstrations, civil rights marches, violent protests etc. were much more radical than today's couped up, obese, video game playing, MTV watching youth.

Anyway, if it's true, it's interesting that as we've been morally decaying for thousands of years, we've at least been advancing technologically in that time.

I don't see the behaviour from the 60's to be the same as what I am talking about. The anti-war demonstrations, civil rights marches, etc. are what we seem to be lacking these days as you pointed out the couped up, obese, video game playing, MTV watching youth are to lazy to bother themselves with anything outside their reality TV lives.

Which poses an interesting notion... Do they both go hand in hand? Does technology advance moral decay or does moral decay advance technology or is it what technology is USED for and applied too?

DaddyHalbucks 11-25-2008 02:33 PM

Wow, that was incredibly callous.

BSleazy 11-25-2008 02:36 PM

If you've ever been in a wreck. Especially one that serious you would know they could of been just stunned and in shock. The ordering of food is the fucked up part though.

bloggingseo 11-25-2008 02:38 PM

This is honestly just a sad commentary. Not all youths are like that. These kids were obviously disgusting and had no morals.

digitaldivas 11-25-2008 03:09 PM

Exactly why the WEREN'T in shock. You don't call up friends and order food to be delivered to you if you are in shock. A person in shock isn't even using that part of the brain that would allow for that type of behaviour.
