Who Cleans Your House?
 

I used to clean every other day after I was done with work, but my mom has been staying with us for the last few months and she had been cleaning.
Except that about a month ago she stopped (no idea why, she just didn't mop the floors anymore). So now when I'm done working at 5PM, I have to clean myself. It sucks!

Should I hire a maid? Here you can get someone for about $20 a day to clean the whole house. Or should I ask my mom to start cleaning again?

If your mom's there she should do it. I'd force her to do it. I'd say "Clean or get the fuck out"

She's just mooching off you at this point. She either cleans or pays rent. That's the choice I give my kids. I don't give a shit if they are just 3 and 7. They'll either clean or get a swift kick in the ass.

If your own mother isn't mopping the floors at LEAST once a day. I'd get rid of her. Go get a new mom, yours is broke.

That is a healthy attitude, everyone should ship in to keep a household running.

I get my house clean every week for $120 a month, best money I've ever spent. Place is spotless when they leave. I live in San Diego so there are all kinds of Mexican ladies looking to clean houses for money.

We have a lady come once a week. We pay her 100.00 per pop.

Im thinking its a bit high.. I know I could do it myself. Hell I work out of the home. But it would never get done if I got rid of her.

100.00 a time just seems high. thats 400.00 a month that I could be using elsewhere I always say. But she does good work.

And no she's not hot. She's my moms age. And very mother like nice.

I usually agree with redshoe, but not feeling the zest today.

If you want someone cheap, who knows they are being underpaid.. just be prepared to get fucked over when you least expect it.

We pay 90 every other week for her to do all the big stuff and we handle the small day to day stuff. My opinion is if you can make more in the time it takes to do something you can pay someone else to do for less then pay it.

I was making the same point you were making, but being.. VEEEEERRRRYYY sarcastic about it. I can't believe this tool is making his mom clean the house and not only is she a guest.. she's his MOM!

ive got a cleaning lady that comes twice a month. she does all the stuff i dont liek doing such as bathrooms kicthen dusting but day to day stuff i do.

I have a maid come in once a week (Mondays) for about 4 hours. She does my laundry, cleans everything, does any dishes I left out (rare), washes down both terrazas, etc.. $20 a pop.. can't beat it..

Except when she bleached a bunch of my new clothes.. that really sucked.. about $500 out the window in one day..

Oh.. and the time she rinsed my wireless keyboard in the sink.. that wasn't terribly helpful, either.. :)

Have a couple maids, my PA, and my Roomba.

maid comes 6 days a week, 10 hours a day... when she's not cleaning (make her do a full detail cleaning every day) we have her run errands, do the shopping, laundry, ironing and stuff...

nanny comes 6 days a week also and she double washes the baby's stuff to make sure its all good

My girlfriend cleans the house..... i fix the cars and mow the lawn so its even;)

I clean my house. Usually wear a hot short and a white shirt and I always get sweaty by the end of it and my nipples get visible thru the wet shirt...

I also shovel the snow on the street in Winter but there in one thing I hate and it is moving the lawn. I pay for that to a guy next door.

I would say that, depending on how old your mother is, that perhaps you should get a maid. If she is misbehaving, perhaps she should clean the house.

I clean my house in my undies : ) I love cleaning in just my underwear.

I have a lady that is a friend of a friend come and clean the whole house every other week. Well worth $60.

I do it myself, i'm a neat freak. I do it about once a week. Its some nice down time where I get a chance to not think about work for a bit so I don't mind doing it. I imagine by next year I'll just say to hell with it and get a maid service though, lol.

I keep things halfway liveable but have two ladies that come in for 2 hours the end of each week. They do surface cleaning primarily... floors, carpets, kitchen, bathroom, dusting.

I do a few times a week

We have a lady come once a week and she does a great job. Not expensive at all.

We have 2 or 3 ladies come once a week. They charge $30/hr per person so when the three of them are here, I pay $90/hr.

I'm fussy, so I am always reminding them of things they overlook and they have to be the most clumsy people I have ever met. They are forever breaking things :(

I do a half ass job and my wife takes care of the rest :)

I use to clean the whole house every Sunday. Now that my girlfriend lives with me. We clean whenever.

I take out the trash and clean the living room (which also has my office in it). She cleans the kitchen and the bathroom. The bedroom is free for all but since thats where she spends most the time while i'm working she tends to clean that too.

Also, she deep cleans when she is pissed off. So, I tend to pick fights with her and just watch her go.

I do it myself... I do it about twice a week.

We do it all. Sucks cleaning the floors on our hands and knees though but only takes about 30 minutes. Every fucking thing we have tried leaves nasty streak marks so we have to use just plain water and dry it up right away.

Dusting wood blinds suck too.
