They started winning the day after Sept 11th, when we responded to their terror exactly as they hoped we would.

By removing fundamental civil rights at home (they hated our freedom right? They succeeded in taking most of it away from us 7 years ago), and aggressively invading a Muslim country that had nothing to do with it. We couldn't have given that asshole bin laden more help in his wildest dreams.

We turned the problem from a few thousand maniacs in caves with maybe a couple dozen income streams, into a never ending stream of new recruits and finance. At this point I believe attacks will only escalate and get increasingly more vicious until we wise up and start fighting terrorism, not populations.

Jan 20th can't come soon enough. Hopefully the new guy, what's his name (haha), has what it takes to do this right.

Agree, but when is the last time anyone did that? Civilians have been targeted in every war I have ever studied. And don't forget, no one hits more soft targets than us, and we don't have the excuse of not having the capability to fight directly.

We aren't given a choice in a lot of cases, especially when dealing with insurgents. When being fired upon by them as they are entrenched amongst civilians it's a damned if you do or dead if you don't scenario. Sadly the insurgents are getting innocents killed because of their cowardice. I wish it weren't that way, and I'm sure the soldiers having to do it feel the same.

It even changed the way people bank around the world and now your transactions are being watched. for the first time in history, not only one building but three buildings collapsed from fire damage. so it never happened before EVER and yet three collapsed on the same day within a few hours of each other.

buildings aren't designed to collapse in their own footprint. it takes an experienced demo team weeks of carefull planning to take a building down like that. so if it's possible to happen just by lighting the building on fire, they can save alot of time and money!

if the buildings did collapse in their own footprint at freefall speeds then that would be a historical moment. if that's the case, why weren't building codes changed world wide?

Only reason right wing maniacs seriously suggest that the media was biased towards McCain. The only difference between this and other elections is that the media actually acted somewhat fairly, instead of trying to destroy the Democrat candidate like they usually do. I suspect the only reason for the change this time was that Obama was so much better than McCain, the media would have lost it's final iota of credibility if it had tanked for McCain the way it did for Bush in 00 and 04. Even they couldn't convince the American people that McCain/Palin ticket wasn't a traveling stand up comedy routine.

The fact remains that soldiers don't any good options once in the military other than to follow orders. And in order to protect their own lives.. they have to take some. That doesn't make them genocidal monsters in my opinion.
