What inspires you most? Positives or negatives?

What gives you your inspiration? Is it looking at the run down house or the loser and saying to yourself that you are going to work harder and work smarter so you will never be like him? Or does your inspiration come from seeing the high rollers and wanting to be like them?

I am a little bit of both, but for me, I think negatives inspire me more. It is the refusal to ever be broke again or go through hard times that pushes me to excel.

What about you?

Well I would have to say the negative is stronger. The desire to never be back where I was.

I'm very much the same.

I have a wife and two girls (8 and 14). I would hate them ever to struggle or go without. So part of me is motivated by my girls and wanting to keep them comfortable.

The other side is wanting desperately to accumulate money just for the sheer sake of it - not for what it cam buy. Ever see the Danny DeVito flick, Larry The Liquidator? One of my favorite films and characters. I'm essentially very similar. I have simple tastes. It's the money figure, not what it can buy, that drives me.

I saw a thread once where a guy was being a real loser and one of the posters said he was going to bookmark the thread and any time he felt lazy or lack inspiration he was going to read that thread and it would make him get off his ass and get back to work.

been down with some joel osteen lately :) btw the subconscious will not accept negatives, so saying 'I will not' is the same as saying 'I will' so it's better to put your goals in positive terms $.02

and funny enough saying 'I will try' will simply keep you trying with out accomplishment :)

I believe in positive thinking, I think it does inspire you. "The Secret" actually inspires me. I feel if I believe in something enough I will find a way to make it come true.

But when I'm exhausted and my To Do List is 4 pages long and I just want to throw in the towel, it is the "I will never be broke again" that kicks in and makes me forge ahead

the secret is basically 'napoleon hill' he invented success philosophy :)
use a positive affirmation, not an affirmation with a negative. when you say 'I will never be broke again' your subconscious hears 'I will be broke again'... so rewrite the affirmation to a positive one...

Positive!!

RevengeBucks_Monica 11-28-2008 08:34 AM

I am inspired simply because I enjoy what I do. While there have been times where money has kicked my ass to work harder, for the most part I like putting in effort and seeing the payoffs.

The only thing that inspires me is the death of my enemies !

My insperation is 5:00 am. Thats when I use to have to leave for work when I was working construction. Also, the ability to make money and not have to leave my house is great insperation. I use to work almost 13 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. Hated that shit.
I started doing this a while back and just recently bought into the construction business I was working for. Now I stay home and relax. I'm not rich, but I'm not even close to broke. I guess I would have to say insperation is better in positive doses, though insperation is often inspired by the negetives in life.
