Fuck these pics r blurry and the lighting is messed up..
 

but I really want to use them for my site anyways.. these weren't done by my usual photographer, and I just realized how blurry they are and how the lighting is fucked up and even varies pic to pic.. but my site had that amateur look and I think my members wouldn't mind.. what do you guys think? Post them on my site or scrap them?

post them, your members won't be as critical

If you aren't happy... don't use them. Your member's may not notice the quality difference, but if you do, 'nuff said. Maintaining standards is a tough thing, but not a bad thing to do.

I would say stick to standards you have.

On other hand there is the phrase of turning lemons into lemonade.

So perhaps add a new section to your site called an amateur collection. Add to it every so often with amateur style pictures and videos. Maybe some self shot material. Hell run a contest that allows some member to come shoot you and put those up. It is all about marketing.

Well I do have a "personal pics" section where I have all sorts of amateur stuff, from pics of me in a bikini in Hawaii to a pic of me giving a bum in Venice Beach a wet willy.. but this photoset has too many pics to post there, there's about 40 in all.. plus I think it looks too "posed" for amateur stuff.. dontcha think?
Is it the lighting or bad photoshop job or what?? I can't figure out why half of these pics are clear and the other half look blurry and the colors are off.. grr..
I think I'll just post them but make them just an added bonus for that week, not THE weekly update.. members can't complain about bonus pics hehe :)

Use them as supplemental content, and make them smaller than usual to help the clarity.

I don't even know if I can get in contact with the guy that took these, these pics were taken over a year ago and since then I have dropped my fone in the toilet and lost all of my #s hehe..

I agree with this, but honestly Call it a BLOOPERS section. The TV show made hundreds of millions, so it can not hurt for you. Also helps to reinforce that you are a normal human being and within reach.

Post them with a text explanation about the guy not being your regular photog.

My old site used to have a bloopers section and my members loved it, we had some great blooper videos of me falling on my face or stumbling over words.. I need to find those clips again.. hmm.. getn lots of good ideas here, thanx so much guys :)

yeah that's another thing I have to consider.. quantity vs quality as far as content goes, and I think the surfers want and deserve BOTH.. so I'm gna post em :) Sometimes I post pic sets that I think aren't very good for one reason or another and it turns out to be one of my biggest fan's fav sets or something like that..
