I do not know anybody.

I did know someone.

I also knew a friend who died a few years back

likewise - was years and years ago - but Im assuming with the infliction that he is no longer with us...

no idea though...

Was only in HIV stage then - we were young and he had contracted it through a bad transfusion.

We were friends but there were rules.

Havent thought about him for some time now...

I actually had a friend that was one of the first people to contract AIDS. This was back in the early 80's when it first reared its ugly head. And yes, he was gay. And no, we never fooled around. I wonder what ever happened to him? Years later I had a friend who was a chick who had it. She got it from straight sex. She was only 25. Lost contact with her too.

yes, he was the flamboyant hairdresser in our town. I was his hair model for a couple of years.. we did some of the big hair shows in Philadelphia. That was 1982-1984. He passed away in 86..from AIDS..

He was a total slut and fucked everything with a swinging dick that would let him.

yeah, while in South Africa 3 people I knew died from AIDS, over there you'd see many people in their 30's dropping dead

I dont know anyone but when it first started hitting the news about the people that have gotten it from blood transfusions we had some scary moments being my dad had quite a few surgeries where he had gotten blood a few years before that.

Thank god he didnt contract it though he ended up dying of cancer. It was spread all through him.

when i was at AVN last year, leaving the show in the taxi line i chat up a couple of girls standing in front of me.
turns out of one them is the canadian girl who purportedly contracted HIV while filming adult scenes in LA during the outbreak 4? years ago, think her name is laura something.
the other girl was a journalist who was doing a story/biography on laura. laura seemed quite healthy btw..

AIDS is the last stage of the HIV infection.. and in the developed countries people can life decades without getting into stage

Used to, he died long ago.

Back in the mid 80's when I worked in a local hospital as a health care worker I had occasion to look after Manitoba's first AIDS case ever. Just for a few night shifts to fill in for that ward's regular staffer, but no one including medical staff really knew much about the disease. I remember all the nurses holding hands and having prayer sessions because of it, because the staff was going to look after the guy no matter what, but they were praying for protection just in case.

It was a very wierd intense time.

One was 20, One was 50 and one killed himself with booze before the AIDs did...

A good friend of mine in high school contracted HIV from an unfortunate situation, and was at full-blown aids within two years.. Difficult watching a beautiful 19 year old girl die so awfully... Was sobering for me.

Lots of people in Thailand with it that I know. Only a couple in the USA.

None of them have full blown AIDS yet.

That's kinda sad knowing that only a matter of months or days the guy you worked with will die soon.
