i hate this song with a passion, i don't know what it was that made me hate it but i swear i want to put a bullet in my head every time it comes on

I, on the other hand, love it.

It's friendly, casual, and -- more important to me at least -- not 50 years old and sung by a dead guy. Just a silly little song by a guy who can do it.

As I get older, I'm gotten painfully aware over the last few years of just how f*cking calcified my tastes have been getting. How long has Nat King Cole and those syrupy strings been cooing over chestnuts roasting on an open fire? The buys choir singing "pa-rum-pum-pum-pum" is probably getting Social Security checks and as much as I like Karen Carpenter's mahogany-rich contralto she's been dead 25 years.

And I also like Barenaked Ladies' Christmas album.

I'm okay with your not liking it. Just wanted to express another opinion.
