Car Buying Nightmare

I bought a car off someone and we metup at Mc Donalds by there house so I can take a look at it. I decided to buy it he gave me the smog and he showed me his wife had signed the pink slip so he can sell it for her.

So I buy the car decided I wanted to resell it because it wasn't for me. I was told I can't resell it without a Bill Of Sale from the original and the signed one from him wont work since he isn't on the pink slip. I signed a release of liability and he said his wife signed it and turned it into the DMV.

I told him I need the Bill Of Sale signed by her, so I was going to meetup with him tonight and he flaked!!! I called him and he said he can't get the Bill Of Sale signed by her and he came up with all these retarded excuses. I called the police department to see if the car was stolen and it came up it wasn't

I got furious with him and called him every name in the book and I hung up on him. I don't know what to do know I have to sell this car and the registration expires in a few days ...

There is a doc you can sign stating the Bill of Sale was lost. Well, at least in CA..

Does the seller have to sign it? What if he decides to be an asshole and decides not to mail in the release of liability I signed?

I would burn it on his front lawn and say it never happened

Put the seller in the trunk first.
