So what do you think of Guns n roses - chinese democracy

just got it and listening to it while doing some work... so far it doesnt really make a big impression on me, its the first listen but it doesnt seem to have bangers on it like 'welcome to the jungle' or 'you could be mine'

mikesinner 12-05-2008 07:12 AM

Checking it out on Pandora right now.

candyflip 12-05-2008 07:15 AM

I like it. Have listened to it at least 1 time each day since I got it.

mikesinner 12-05-2008 07:26 AM

I'm not that into it from what I've hear so far. It's o.k but it's not as good as the old stuff.

I would have really liked to see them stay together when they were hot.

JimmiDean 12-05-2008 07:31 AM

Sorry just does not do it for me.

Agent 488 12-05-2008 07:38 AM

sucks ass.

leek 12-05-2008 07:40 AM

Enjoying my free Dr. Pepper :-)

Kudles 12-05-2008 12:03 PM

It's ok.....

Kristian 12-05-2008 12:05 PM

A little bit of the old magic is there but not enough imo.

First listenning impression:

Most songs are mid-tempo, over produced and why is AXL signing so high? Way higher than ever before.

After a couple of listennings, the songs grew on me and I would say 80% of the album is very good.

IRS is the best song on the album.

Still missing slash bluesy touch as well as Duff's amazing bass fills that made the original lineup irreplacable!

PS: Carlos, your input on this?

BlackCrayon 12-05-2008 01:10 PM

not near as good as the old stuff but not as bad as i thought it would be either.

alexchechs 12-05-2008 01:12 PM

garbage, pure over produced garbage... at least I got a free Dr. Pepper

tranza 12-05-2008 01:38 PM

Not bad at all

Yeah I haven't really heard that yet,

It's not even on the "must listen to" list as I don't really expect that much and am more likely afraid it's going to be mediocre.

Would you say it has more groove than Velvet Revolver?

selena 12-05-2008 01:54 PM

I listened to it off my space a week or so ago. I was afraid it would be horrible, and it wasn't.

A couple of the songs I really liked, though I couldn't tell you the name of them.

That said, it's not like I'm going to go out and buy it either. I will just save my money in case hell freezes over and the originals ever get back together to tour again.

spacedog 12-05-2008 02:03 PM

fucking garbage

Bex 12-05-2008 02:09 PM

It is growing on me a bit. Has some good songs ... but my expectations were not high for this one either.

WebairGerard 12-05-2008 02:15 PM

only heard about 3 songs and I really don't care much for it. The tune Better would be kinda cool if it actually came it out about 5 yrs ago.

lol, that's exactly what a radio dj said (almost verbatim) - I was listening to the radio in my car and he was talking about chinese democracy

evildick 12-05-2008 02:27 PM

I disliked it so much the first listen through I am not really looking forward to giving it another chance. Will probably give it another shot though.
