Good that the pilot ejected safely.

Adam X 12-08-2008 04:07 PM

holy crappers.. yeah I saw that on yahoo... and I knew you were drivin home.. jeez..
Even though he ejected, I guess the pilot found out sales were down on his website and lost control.

Persius 12-08-2008 04:09 PM

My friend's house is down the street and my familys place is also a mile or so away :O that was a close one

dav3 12-08-2008 04:13 PM

"We are still trying to confirm the aircraft even belongs to us," said Marine Staff Sgt. Bobbie Bryant.

Adam X 12-08-2008 04:15 PM

They know exactly who it is, but they don't want to release details until they are sure.

I hope no one was hurt on the ground.

davecummings 12-08-2008 04:36 PM

I saw the initial plum of smoke going up in the air as I was arriving home at noon. I live approx 1.5 miles from where it happened. Two residential fatalities, and two others still unaccounted for:-(.

papill0n 12-08-2008 04:38 PM

Just saw this on the news.

Adam X 12-08-2008 04:44 PM

yeah fuck the airplane.. the fatalities being reported is what sucks.. fuck

NicAngel 12-08-2008 05:00 PM

The people on the ground didn't have the option.

Pics Traffic 12-08-2008 05:52 PM

This sucks.

Oliver Klozov 12-08-2008 05:57 PM

Just confirmed 3 dead with another still missing. :-(

Ron Bennett 12-08-2008 06:13 PM

Article says the crash occurred two miles from the base. Reaffirms what I've often thought and said to others ... at all costs, avoid living within two miles of any air strip.

And preferribly upwards of five miles, but that only reduces risk slightly more, plus often not realistic due to the number of air strips that exist in many areas.

Many communities have small air strips and/or bases that aren't readily known except to longtime locals - another of those things worth researching when buying a home.

NicAngel 12-08-2008 06:17 PM

the pilot waited longer than he should've to eject. he was trying his best to redirect the plane.

Spunky 12-08-2008 06:33 PM

Damn,those poor people

HorseShit 12-08-2008 06:59 PM

I can't imagine what that pilots going through

camgirlshide 12-08-2008 07:38 PM

typically the pilots end up not punching out at all if they see ditching the plane will end up in a residential neighborhood. I hope that these two can get the required treatment to get over their decision to save themselves once they realized staying with the plane was not going to make the situation any better.

DaddyHalbucks 12-08-2008 07:40 PM

At least it wasn't an F-22 Raptor.

:helpme

:1orglaugh................:Oh crap I laughed at that. How shitty.

NicAngel 12-09-2008 01:08 AM

the news said one engine completely died. the pilot did his best to manouver the plane on one engine. but once the second engine died he waited til the last minute to eject. now 2 adults and an infant confirmed dead. one child still missing. i can only imagine the guilt and sorrow the pilot must be feeling. very very sad.

if his plane lasted a few more seconds it would've hit my neighborhood. he was headed exactly towards my home. whew.

bobby666 12-09-2008 04:56 AM

if people should fly, they would have wings

tranza 12-09-2008 05:05 AM

NicAngel 12-09-2008 05:46 PM

Adam X 12-09-2008 05:53 PM

NicAngel 12-09-2008 10:11 PM
