My strategy for promoting a new BDSM site? Any suggestions?

This is a strategy that I came up with:

- setup a clips store with c4s
- submit for review to review sites such as Rabbits Reviews
- exchange banners/links with similar sites.
- submit to TPG galleries
- setup a topic related blog
- post info in related forums
- Goggle pay per click ads
- pray that people will visit and like the content enough to join the site :angel

Am I missing anything in this plan, any suggestions or ideas?

The site I try to promote is mpfetish.com
Feel free to visit it and share you thoughts on look-and-feel, content or any another helpful suggestion you might have.

Thanks
Creth

Nice Site

Well, I'm a new webmaster, just starting out November with an amateur BDSM site. Your site looks great, and I wish I had that much original content. Also, your pricing seems good so I think your going in the right direction. Hopefully some of the pros will give you some tips, which I'll be looking for as well. Good luck.

(my site is just a PR0 but if you want to link, let me know) :winkwink:

yeah submit to TPG galleries and make free sites for link lists, that's great traffic form SE

asianseekerz 12-10-2008 09:08 AM

Submitting to Tube sites can be a wast of time.

If this list helps, I will be happy.
Best sources of traffic. And I may miss some.

Mail ( Dont do this as you will have problems )
SEO
SEM
Blogs ( this is mostly SEO but link trades as well )
Forums and list sites that allow you to post
TGP/MGP
SPAM of mail/forums etc.
Tubes

Make the Enter text a touch bigger on the warning page

" Welcome to the Fetish World
Inside we have photos and videos from our bondage sessions. "

How many? You dont have to be exact, but put something like 100 photo sets 150 video sets 3 cams etc. but tell the truth. If you lie they join and dont find that, they will cancel

Button at the top says Clips. This leads me to believethat you have Video clips that I can preview. When I click that link it takes me to a page that is selling them.. What do you want. Me to Join the pay site or buy a single clip???

Hit me on ICQ if you want some more input, and I can also show you some other options that you might have.

Hey Pornguy,
Thanks for your recommendations.

I've implemented all of your suggestions!
Also instead of linking to clips, now I link to a Blog (took me all day to create... :) Tomorrow TPGs...

Thanks everyone who visited a site and posted your suggestion here

I think hitting things from all different angles helps. But make sure you have good tracking built into your site with set goals (look into installing Google Analytics) so you can see what is working and what is not...

Too many webmasters take the warning page too literally and I think you have as well. Also, it is common for webmasters to seek out new marketing methods without getting their core proposition tight.

Even though it is a warning page, you still want visitors to click on the "Enter" link. Your challenge is to get them to click through so they can properly evaluate your site.

Let's park the header design for a sec. There is nothing on your entry page that tells a visitor what's in store, how you are different and why they should enter your site.

Don't take my word for it, if you have Google Analytics installed just check your bounce rate off your index page. If it's 30% or more, you have an issue.

On the proposition contained in your header, experienced porn surfers perceive a difference between the fetish niche and the BDSM niche. Which one are you?
