I used to have this:

Damn thing ran out of memory on me while I was programming it, but it does everything I want it to. (I don't really care if you post your remotes, btw, but everything else gets posted around here, so why not) :thumbsup |

I jsut use regular expressvu remote for my tv and dish, no need for vcr, the shows play 15 times a day on different channels/times :P

Currently I have seven in the living room, but the two identical ones in the middle are actually just visiting - I'm having some JVC issues. I have three more in the bedroom, but that would be a bit too personal to post. :) http://www.maddoghouse.com/extras/pics/remotes_gfy.jpg |

I'm LOLing at myself right now for coining the phrase "man stains." :1orglaugh P.S. Now that I think about it, I have at least 5 more remotes elsewhere in the house (TV, TV, VCR, DVD, Cable Box), and that's not counting car remotes! |

Small remotes with two AAA batteries can go years without a change. |

It's a Philips Pronto Pro, you can pick it up online for around $700. Although in the UK (where I am), it's more like $1k, unfortunately! The 'like to feel the buttons rather than look for them' thing is all very well (there are 9 'hard' buttons for common functions like volume, channels etc), but to fit all your devices and design your own interface for them, it's the only thing that quite takes it, at the lower end of the 'professional' range of remotes. Of course, there are better but those are more suited to entire houses kitted out with home automation stuff. When I got it, I was a hopeless nerd and spent around 3 days getting it just right, to control everything (including lights/ceiling fans etc) and look nice. I even built in a couple of Easter eggs. Hoho. Seriously though, you may well be better off buying an ipaq and using infra red software or something. I bought it when I had far too much money and didn't worry about tax bills ;) Anyway, check this out if you're still interested. |

The company I bought it from were very gracious though and replaced it by return, thank God! |

Judging from all the name brands on your remotes, swaping them all for a single programable remote will save you plenty of embarassment. now just go rip off all the name tags on your equipment and you'll be fine :p :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
