Is adult worth it, now?
 

Nine of ten traffic generation techniques I use to know are dead.. and I've not easily or difficultly found viable replacements.. What would YOU do?

Is traffic generation really as difficult as it seems, in the past year or so?
Are conversions really as bad as they seem?
I can still convert TGP traffic right at 1:1000 .. but that's still pretty terrible in my book

I also see that nothing I've put up in the past couple of years was even getting any traffic any more so I just deleted most of it tonight(except for the galleries). Need to just start fresh in something.


What would you do, if you have to seek out and find new ways to work?
I am thinking of abandoning adult for more profitable mainstream ventures..
What's out there?
Credit Cards, Loans, what?
I use to make money in bigger chunks..
Honestly chasing $30 signups drives me fucking crazy.

If chasing $30 porn sign-ups is driving you crazy I bid you good luck trying to chase credit card sign-ups...

You'd need deep pockets to even begin in the finance niche if you're hoping to make decent money and even then it's difficult...

Best bet is probably health products as there is a huge market and you don't need to rely just on organic traffic in order to convert like you do in finance niche.

The niches that are converting best are mature, glamor, and single girls that have a program with more single girls members area shared.

and anything from 1:800 to 1:2000 is pretty good for the time being.

For me no, and hasnt been really as ive been in only for the last year and a half, i make lots of sales on vod but not much money as revshare for vod can be as low as .61 cents on a sale lol...maintstream im starting a tax biz...you usually can get folks at around 200 a pop and if you get lots of returns your looking at nice money for only 4 months of work.:2 cents:

I would try to build up a blog about health or something.. If you can build up your own blog community you can get pretty big! It all depends on your posts :thumbsup

Yes Adult is worth it.

There is always going to be that hot Adult niche of the moment but someone is selling in every niche it's just that they've been able to generate enough traffic to capture the demand. Sex isn't going out of style anytime soon.

Of course its up to whether you want to keep plugging away with Adult, but you can keep your TGP's going while testing out some mainstream sites. That's the beauty of running websites.

The days of adult being a way to get rich quick are gone - like most interent companies in the late 90's - the gold rush is over.

The good news though is that the internet is not going anywhere. It will be here for the rest of our lives - however it will change. Added government regulations are imparitive, and technology will always be improving.

The challenge as a webmaster is to stay on top of these changes and to be able to see down the road. So no matter what business you get into - adult, credit cards, gambling - there are going to be obsticles.

My advice is to do 1 thing and do it well - to become the leader in your niche - not the one who is following the trends or the others. To do this sometimes takes risk and putting yourself on the line.

Well said, in this environment, adult is probably as good or better than many mainstream choices. It's as much the content as the traffic IMHO.
