Where to live in 2009: the EU or US?

Seeing as the majority of clients are from the US -- and the complete randomness of the USD exchange rate -- it seems more and more attractive to relocate to the US.

To all those who are saying that the EU economy is stronger, go ahead and check your AdWords invoice. I don't recall VAT always being at 21%, do you ?

Unless Bush doesn't do anything too stupid during his final days in the office, I think the US will recover. It has recovered before, while this is the first real crisis for the EU since it's rapid growth.

EU Advantages:

Taxes. You can setup an offshore company in Romania or any other new EU country and pay next to nothing. This can't be done in the US (at least not 100% legally).

More "whales". I'm not sure about you, but most of the whales I get from my affiliate efforts are from the EU. On the other hand, being in the US and catching an EU whale would actually be more profitable.

Amsterdam. Nuff said.

Lots of culture. Not that I care too much about it, but last summer I had a eurotrip by car, saw so many beautiful historical sights. And there's something to it when you travel 200 miles and get a totally different language.

..... what are your advantages for living in the EU ?

US Advantages

Obama? I don't know, I haven't lived there.

Anyone lived both in the US and EU ? Share your experience please.

I moved to Mexico a couple of years ago. and I DONT REGRET IT!
I bought onions for 22 cents a kilo (that's 10 cents a pound) and oranges for 50 cents a kilo (about 22 cents a pound). My house payment is 600 US dollars, after the exchange and I live in a really nice 2-story home within an enclosed complex, in a nice part of town.

So, neither the US nor the EU are the answer: Latin America is.

Note: I'm in Mexico, but in the Southern part of the country, far, far, far away from all the BS going on on the US-Mexico border area. So no kidnappings, no killings and no issues here.

The EU is actually like 54 different countries, laws, cultures and languages.
Be more specific

Totally depends where your gonna be moving from. The US dollar is now on its way DOWN. If youre gonna move there, id wait until its weak as hell (which wont be more than 6 - 12 months from now).
