Seriously though. Rap is a trend that should've fizzled out ten years ago.
the fact that it's basically been the same shit over and over again while remaining so popular during that time is fucking saddening. The only thing that has even remotely progressed in the genre are the beats and even then only slightly.

little wayne is a horrible rapper. i really havent heard any good rap in a while. ive resorted to downloading old school rap and classic rock lately since any new rap coming out sucks.

ok, usually it's not 4 of them, but usually one or two guys about 17 or 18 will be dancing around acting goofy/tough/obnoxious, generally with jeans that are 3 sizes too big and the ass hanging down to the ground almost, while the music in their car plays loud rap through open windows while they wait

Lil Wang has nothing to do with "RAP" because "RAP" died about 7 years ago. What you have been seeing in the past few years is a trend that was always around but never so STRONGLY popular until the rap elvis came on the scene. This problem is called BLACKSPLOITATION it's where you take poor dumb little race traders and give them some money to tap dance on stage for you while degrading their own race and making the world embrace the word "Nga". I've seen it to, but here in NoHo, it's the 7-11's. One goes in to buy 40'z (seriously, I'm not kidding) and 4 or 5 will pile out of a car with rap music CRANKED up beyond belief and dance in THE ENTIRE parking lot, so that you can barely pull in at a crawl and hope not to hit one.

I dunno.. and maybe I don't know how to dance but judging the look of it, I'd say they don't know how to either. Kinda sad really. I can't imagine having nothing better to do but dance in a 7-11 parking lot.

Granted the parking lot is only capable of holding like 15 cars (give or take). You're almost forced to park in the first stall which is the furthest away from the 7-11. I guess I could use the excersize anyway, I mean after all I do just go there for a hand full of butterfinger candy bars and sprites anyway.

The only thing I will say in Lil Waynes favor is that he can actually rap when he tries. But, people don't like when he tries as much as what he does when he's high and talking gibberish. Now he doesn't even do that, he just freestyle sings and the idiots are eating it up.

But you are right about the shit that's been popular in the last several years. From Laffy Taffy to Hurricane Chris to Soldier Boy... all of it is coon rap and it sells millions (of ringtones mostly).

And in the meantime Common puts out his best album, Mos Def makes quality left of center stuff constantly and J. Dilla dies... but no one outside of a handful of fans notices any of it happening.

It's fucking sad.

Someone ask this gentleman who his favorite artist is and how that person is better than Lil Wayne or whomever he decides to focus his anger at being an old on.

People underestimate how powerful music really is. It's pretty fucking amazing if you think about it. Imagine what this country would be like if rappers had all written songs about ultra positive things?

I am (and have always been) into Metal bands. Although, I do know who he is....just not really for me personally as far as my musical tastes. Wish him the best of luck though regarding his career. Seems like he's doing an awesome job so far. :thumbsup
