Any way to treat burn when you don't have medecine? just burned my hand :(

Was making some muffins and burned my hand. I heard buttermilk helps but I don't have any. Any "grandma" method to treat burns?

No seriously don't put anything like that on it, it will make it worse. The fat keeps the heat in and what you need to do is get the heat out. I would get some cloths in cool water and lay them over you very lightly to help get the heat out. That's where you start.

Butter is an old wives remedy but it is totally false, very bad...

If you were as far north as I am you could put snow on it.

Yeah cloth dipped in cold water and applied is the way to go.

Butter is bad ... frozen peas or anything frozen - hold it against the burn

burned hand remedy

This is obviously too late but the next time you get a cut or burned anything. Go to your local plant store ask for Alo vera , it is a green spiky plant with small white spots. You can keep it in the ground out side or keep it on your shelf in the ceramic pott. make sure it gets plenty of water. Application , cut a piece off take away the flat part of the skin put the flat fleshy part on your wound, tape it in place , every 2 days replace the alovera fleshy part on your wound , rince your wound with betodine. you will be beck to normal soon. It is truely the most amazing plant cure for any cuts or burns. eidoos77.:thumbsup

use salt

OverdueNudes 12-18-2008 06:45 PM

The best method is usually get on the computer, go to a forum, and wait for the responses that will take between 2 and 10 minutes while your hand burn gets worse.

Thats for cuts. I did that when I was a kid. Worked every time, piss and aloe plant.

Marcus Aurelius 12-18-2008 07:36 PM

Mayonnaise, honestly. It will take the sting out and keep it from blistering.

Being a cook, I've burned myself many times, hell I've stuck my hand in a deep fat fryer during a busy ass time not paying attention. I always just grabbed a cup of cold water and kept my hand in it, replaced the water every time it started to hurt again, after a couple hours it was fine.
