Bad to change site title?
 

I've had a site for about a year now, it's not really listed on any SE's. I only get about 4 hits a day from keywords. I'm completely re-doing the site and want to change the site <title> as well for new keywords. Is this a bad idea or shouldn't matter too much since i'm barely listed? (Not looking for SEO work)

Dude 4 hits a day (with almost no listing on SE's after one year) ain't shit. Based on your starting post, at this point you can pretty much change anything you want. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain if you implement the right changes.

I wouldn't worry too much. Depending on how often your site is crawled, you'll see the SERP's update along with your changes.

Google holds more importance on the text your site is being linked to with than your own site title.

Well I know it ain't shit. The year of it being up it was barely ever touched. I'm really only getting off the ground now.

your current title isn't working for you, so not only would I change it, but I would also do some research on what title would work best for your site. Hit me on icq if you have any questions.

Seems to me that the title of your site and the url should match. So maybe what you are really needing is a different domain?
