jail time in maine

I went away for vacation this weekend for a few days to Maine. The drive was hell, about 14 hours from Pennsylvania, three of which were spent in traffic. Arrived about two in the morning partied for a few hours and went to sleep for the night. Early next morning I went out with a few friends to another guy's house to catch up on things but he wasnt around.

After waiting for a little we got a little bored and started walking around and noticed a big ass broken down factory

//enter the cops

Police showed up after about 20 minutes of us walking around inside and outside of the building and fucking around with some broken stuff...

->just a quick description of the building..

Broken down for the last 10-15 years, rusted death trap, nothing operational, spray painted, everything destroyed from other people....

Police arrive and I think, "Oh, they probably just want us to leave. We'll go talk with them It's not like we commited a serious crime."

apparently Maine takes its trespassing very seriously, so seriously that we were all handcuffed and arrested with bail of $340.00 each and all charged on burglery and misc other shit like criminal mischeif and trespassing.

After we posted bail (10 hours later) it was time for 2 hours of trying to get our IDs back from the police and a quick nap because we needed to leave for Pennsylvania in the morning (another 14 hours of driving)

Anyone know a good criminal lawyer in Maine near the Bangor?

Dude cops everywhere are like that....especially in small towns & in the south.

Just go find a bar & drink if your bored.

Rep 11-11-2002 08:37 PM

That would probably work if i was old enough to drink in a bar without getting an underage charge.

I still need a lawyer.

I'm not an attorney but...

Burglery = Entered structure or convaience with intent to commit a crime.

Criminal Mischief = Causing permanent damage resulting in over 100 dollars

Trespassing = Your obviously guilty =)

Is there something your not telling us reference the other two?

=)

trespassing - guilty
criminal mischief - guilty i believe

- - -I'm completely guilty of trespassing and probably criminal mischief. Though I can't say that anything had a specific value I wasnt exactly tearing the place apart. I don't care about that charge, I acted childish and I'll take the punishment for it but I DO need a lawyer.

Contact the guys in my post above

Rep 11-11-2002 08:54 PM

I will, thank you very much.

Optimally I'd like to have a lawyer contact the DA and pleabargain or the company and see if they'll settle for lump sums of money.

EscortBiz 11-11-2002 08:56 PM

Rep I will take a lump sum of $75,000 and will have you shipped in a box to mexico, how does that sound?

:1orglaugh

But on a serious note any good attorney will have someone in the DA they know already these guys are connected

Hopefully it works like that, I've never been in any legal trouble before so I'm a little uncertain about the whole process. Thanks for the link I'll contact someone tomorrow.

Just don't go back to Maine. It's not like they are going to extradite you or something. After a few years, it will all blow over.

Sheesh... Where else would ya get crap like that? Never ever come across a country so "unfree" and tied up in laws and law enforcement - tis a joke... a sad one..

You're really fucking obsessed pal. Why don't you give it a rest for a while. Maybe where you are from it is okay to tresspass and damage property, but obviously in Bangor (which is beautiful btw) it's not!
