americans - do you carry a gun or a knife?
 

I know you are allowed to carry a small knife in most states or a gun if you have a permit, anyone actually do?

I carry a machete in my pants but only when I'm in Florida

yeah I have one of those swiss army things for chicks, its orange and has a mirror in it. But it is a knife. :)

I always carry a knife. If you carry a knife, after a short time you begin to wonder how you ever got along without it. It always gets a good workout openning boxes, cutting the strings that hold barbie dolls hair to the packaging, etc.

They use plastic coated metal wires now.. Fucking pisses me off opening my kids toys.. Oh, Christmas is going to be so much fun :1orglaugh

If you're going to carry, it better be a gun and you'd better know how to use it. Knives are too easy to take away from someone.

You can actually carry a gun without a permit in many areas.

i carry both at all times. never know when you're gonna need one or the other.

I walk around with a RPG... it's the only way to ensure your safety.

When I lived in the states, I carried both.

In Panama, I carry a knife until I can get a gun permit.

I've got a great knife that conceals as a belt buckle, never gets found in pat downs at clubs either.

keep a club in the car.

it's REALLY hard to kill someone on accident with a club.

Usually carry a smith 38. it's small and hammerless which is great to just stick in your pocket. If I feel like strapping on a holster, I'll carry my Glock .40 or 9mm.

I usually carry around a leatherman multi tool if that counts.

Yep. That counts. Not easy to deploy rapidly for self-defense uses, but you will need a screwdriver and pliers a whole lot more than a edged weapon for self defense. :winkwink:

Twice I've been confronted by guns.

In the first case, I was mugged in SC. I was a US Marine - in full uniform. That fucker didn't know what hit him.

The second case I got shot. Right in the ass. He didn't get shot and spent a lot more time in the hospital than I did!

I would carry a gun if I had a permit. I have several so it would be a nice option. Otherwise it's a small folder or surefire for me.

I have never carried neither and yet somehow have managed to make it to age 40. Oh wait I choose not to go into areas where is might be necessary to have such a knife or be to stupid enough to starts shit with dumbasses that might be carrying weapons because they have small penises. Besides killing someone with a gun or a knife is so unpersonable. I mean snuffing the life out of someone with just your own bare hands now THAT'S killing someone. A REAL man can kill someone without weapons. Everyone else is a pussy.

if some of those situations do happen the most important thing is to have balls and to be brave, and you'll get out of it... having a gun or a knife won't help you much if you're coward or scared...

Y-yeah, but that works mostly in theory. Unless you're Chuck Norris, going up against 5 guys isn't very "brave" without a gun.

I either carry a gun or (god knows how this thing is called) a small metal thing loaded with huge ass tear gas "bullets". Knocks out everyone within a 180 degrees viewing angle and within 15 feet.

If you were educated, you would know that God has 3 persons and Jesus is one of them.

If I could stop an armed guy(s) with just my bare hands and my bullet proof penis I would never carry a gun or a knife. Where I am from people that want to take your stuff don't ask to see your penis before they shoot you and if it is big enough they let you go. :)
